Hi, guys ! I admit having been busy doing nothing !
That is the privilege of being a pensioner ?
What have I done.....exactly nuthin´except watching
The Swimming World Championships in Barcelona, mornings
and evenings !! The summer here is at it´s highest peak
and we have had really hot weather over here ! (I won´t complain,
though, as our fall and winters are truly long, dark and mostly
cold, so...) In anticipation of our frosty fall and winter
I did manage to put this little tune together !

http://app.box.com/s/hy9683vpwmxn3ixohy6e

This version has a three voiced ending

http://app.box.com/s/djeldaj9541tpqbil1l7

The BIAB style used was Bolero 2 and recorded thru zoom to
Mixcraft on my laptop.

Lyrics:

FALL (Music and Lyrics: Dani)
1.I,
recall
Summer´s almost gone away
soon fall will come to my door
I´m waitin´, so patiently waitin (for)

2.Fall,
love you fall
soon you´ll be passin´by this way
please, bring your snow to my floor
for skiing and skating
and playing all around
Ref:
Wanna get out in the crispy air
swirlin´ around on ice, so fair

3.Fall,
Oh, my fall
Blue is your sky and seldom gray
hey, wanna crave you for more
of freezin´ and snowin´
over sea and frosty ground

Ref:
Wanna get out in the crispy air
swirlin´ around on ice, so fair

Dani,

A love song to Fall... that's an interesting idea!
Your lyric flows nicely. Your melody is very, very nice.
The vocal and keyboard are nicely recorded.
Your backing tracks (rhythm) are difficult to hear - they are mixed so low.
If you brought that bossa drum up it would make this dance!

Hi Dani,

Wow! This is really adventurous in many ways. I really like the key changes. To my way of thinking, nothing lifts a song quite like a key change.

Some of the chords you use in your progression are unusual choices but they work well. I also like the idea of writing "a love song to fall" (to quote Floyd).

Seems to me that you're really stretching your songwriting wings these days! smile

Best wishes,
Noel

Hi Dani,

what a crazy idea to write a lovesong for something you call
"truly long, dark and mostly cold".
Still enjoyed listening while enjoying the summer.

Hi Guenter !

and thank you for your kind words !
I feel I have to explain a little closer !
Fall up here, especially if the sea has
frozen and before there has been too much snowing
can be a real treat. Can you imagine yourself
skating on the surface of the ocean between
isles and islands in our super beautiful
unbeaten archipelago ? Over your head a clear
blue sky and a sun laying quite low over the horizon
coloring up the few clouds in all rainbow colours ?
You have to take my word for it ! I have lived through
this kind of weather so I just had to depict it somehow !
When the fall goes over to winter the snow breaks the darkness with it´s whiteness and it can be cool to take a night skiing trip in the moonlight !:) But you are right of course, the weather can be
quite different from that too !!!

Cheers
Dani

Hi Dani

Really enjoyed listening. I thought the choice of style was quite interesting and worked well with the song.

And great lyrics, quite nostalgic.

Kind regards

Trevor

Hi, Trevor !

I am glad you felt nostalgic
when listening to this little
tune. I tried to catch a melancholic
mood with the dim chords and hopefully
they did the job ?

Cheers
Dani

Looking forward to the day when I can say this.

I like the idea of singing to the long, dark winter. Keep doing nothing!

Well, being in the midst of the most brutal summer in my area since 1882 your song was a real breath of fresh air. Thanks for the reminder....hope springs eternal. Fine job.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
