Hello,

Longtime since I posted any songs on this site, I have been using BIAB for many years but never really got to its full potential, I play sax but have been out of playing for a couple of years.

About 4 years ago I wrote some tracks for an album but they never really saw the light of day, so I thought it was time to dust them off.

This song was original played on a alto sax but it just didn't sound right think the sax sound just didn't fit.

Anyway I dug out my Casio DH800 plugged it into Garageband and chose an Indian flute and played, this was the results.

The following was used in the track:

BIAB 2013
DangDut1 World style
Coyte DX Sitar Sound
366 Electric Country EV65 Bass
405 Accoustic, Strumming EV120 Guitar
Realdrums Rhumba Brushes

GarageBand and World Jam Pack Indian Flute sound
Logic studio 9 for mixing/mastering

Its called Palace of Splendour and is inspired by The Grand Palace in Thailand (whole album is inspired by my honeymoon out there 12 years ago)

Palace of Splendour

Thanks

Adrian

Adrian,

Very pretty. I like your choice of tracks and the exotic vibe. Personally I like an ending as opposed to a fade.

Nice work.

I like it Adrian! It does have an exotic sound to it, as Josie mentioned. I like the fact that you played the flute (great job!)

Hi Adrian,

this is a nice one. But I like the other stuff
on your site much better. Good sax playing.
There is one (Beach Party) featuring a trumpet.
Is that your DH800, too?

Hi

Thanks for the listens, the other songs on my site are a mixture of Sax and loops the trumpet Im affarid is a loop. these are demos I put together with the view to replacing the loops with live playing etither sax or EWI or DH800.

I like this song as it is a pretty melody.

I thought in some places that the mix was a bit crowded in the background thereby distracting from the flute's melody. It was hard to keep my attention on the flute in places due to the things happening in the background and also due to the levels of the back ground instruments.

All in all, I like it..... but would shorten it a bit. Unless something really interesting is going on which warrants a longer song, I try to keep the instrumentals to about 3 minutes give or take.... well, not an strict requirement, but that is MY general rule.

One of the hardest things I've had to learn as a songwriter is not so much what to put in the song, but after having written the song, what to leave out of the song.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
