Interesting theme. They tend to do that, don't they?

Hi Alyn,
yes, divorce always gives you a lot to say. It's good that you grin and bear it. The listening made me smile.

Alyn,
What a good time foot stompin song about getting cleaned out. Loved the squat stop. And the adlibs were right on too. I really enjoyed it.

Scott 709, Glad it got your toes a-tappin' VideoTrack, YUP, mine did anyway. Guenter, It was a stressful time and this song just appeared one day when I was watching the Simpsons cartoon and Bart said a phrase which turned into "she forgot squat" Thanks Bart LOL Sundance, Thanks, my divorce was part of the "perfect storm of events" at that time and the only way out was via my sense of humour. The original was a much grittier rock song with a long solo starting with an adlib "but she forgot my guitar" but this version was less angry sounding Alyn

Alyn,
... and give her half my house then I'm gonna get out of town no more messing around
THAT was funny! Good that you can "laugh" about it now... And you got a bunch of songs out of it! So... there's that...
Good job on the piano part - that was right in the pocket.
I do wonder, though.... with all the choices of RT drums, why program your own? That's always been my favorite part of BIAB - not having to deal with drums parts - I'd buy the program just for that part... just wondering your take on it...

Hi, Alyn !
I am sorry for you not having found the right one. In fact it seems that those who do it are the lucky ones. To find a true love in this life can probably be much harder than to win the main prize on any lottery ? I wish you better luck henceforth !
Your tune as a composition was absolutely super and your performance too !:)
Cheers Dani

Hi Alyn,
As others have already mentioned, this is a real toe-tapper! Loved it! Personally, I think it's great to be able to take a situation like yours and to turn it upside down like you have. I always admire that kind of resilience. It's a wonderful trait to possess.
All the best, Noel

Alyn, I like the lyrics and the melody. Been there done that. I agree with Floyd about the RT drum parts though. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure a lot of us can relate to the theme. Tom

Alyn,
Coming late to this one. Been tied up all week with other "stuff". Glad I didn't miss this.
I think this one is my favorite of yours so far. A lot of energy. Entertaining, and funny. Your voice really fits this one.
Keep up the good work.

floyd, Glad you liked my sense of humour. Dani48, Thanks for your kind words. Noel96, AT that time I used to say that if I didn't have bad luck then I wouldn't have any luck at all. Gotta laugh it off...eventually. Tommyad, thanks for your comments, sorry you too are a member of this "club" gruvrider, The dog seemed to miss me as he was always waiting for me when I picked my son up on "visiting days". And I missed him FAR more than the ex Steve, Thanks a lot for the comment. You keep up the good works also. RE my use of midi drums and not real drums In this song I just wanted a snare drum, no kik, hats etc. The instruments and lead vocals were finished and I had spent a lot of time auditioning the drums and the feel, in my mind, just evaporated with a full kit. I have a roll up USB Piano Keyboard which I use as my drum kit. I can then set all the keys, in my DAW Cubase SX, to play one note, in this case d1 (snare) and just tapped away, sometimes in time. Then adjusted the timing as I felt necessary. My drum VSTi is FL Studio and I also use the tab sequencer and drum sequencer, FPC, in that also to get rhythms. I always save a midi file of my BIAB song and have even, not in this song, changed the instrument tracks, say piano and bass, to play drums and partially deleted/adjusted the results. That takes some time but I have done that for years now so it seems easier with time. I only started using the real stuff when I got BIAB 2013 as I resisted the change, muttering "in my day" LOL. SO I am spending a lot of time now re-doing my old stuff and mix and matching midi and Real stuff.. I sometimes wish I hadn't been so pedantic but..... Glad you all enjoyed Alyn

Hi Alyn.
This stuff of yours is just so refreshingly different.
It really does have a unique feel to it which is infectious and compels you to go back and listen to it again and again. I actually liked the drums and think the Realdrums might have sounded just too slick for this track. (Sorry Floyd)
It starts off driving along, but then changes gear when the solo comes up and kicks again with the harmony vox. How do you manage to get your voice to sound like you've just turned twenty one?
And, of course, not forgetting the lyrics which are sublime!
More please, Alyn.
ROG.

Bob, Thanks for kind comments ROG Thanks ROG, what can I say? "sounded just too slick".... PERFECT that is exactly it. I have always been unique in what I do/play, I can't help it, many a time I have wished I could fade in the background musically but I have never seen the point of conforming to the norm!!! I have been thrown out of every band I have been in for my "eccentric way of playing" My voice sounds 21 WOW.... After a lifetime of beer and ciggies that is amazing, thanks for the compliment. Wish I looked 21!! Lyrics sublime...another WOW thanks, I write as I speak...all done without thinking I hope you are over the flu. Alyn

Might as well just sing about it! And glad you did. Did the dog want to leave? Fun listen, nice production all the way around.
Yeah man - just take a big pile of money out in the driveway and set it on fire. It'd be about the same! Or so I hear -- I'm 33 years into a good one.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
