Honor your woman. She'll appreciate it.

Pardon the amateur vocals. Just try to appreciate my meaning.

The Treasures of a Woman
By: Kent Kersey

Sailing away from my home
not so sure where I be bound
turning and twisting, lurching and listing
just sorta floating around
Waving goodbye to my fam'ly, pleasant regards

Then there's a girl, insecurity soars
Good Lord!, she's coming onboard
but oh, how I need her moral support
kindness, and friendship, all that and more

Romance and tenderness, fun and delight
tacit acceptance, tactful advice
just a soft breeze filling my sails so wide, She says:

I'll be the tail, boy, and you be the kite"

Briny blue seas! scuffing my tennies so boyishly

the Treasures of a woman
take them if you can
untold wealth is waiting for the wise and worthy man

Treasures of a woman,
honor her and then
tell me how can you measure the worth of the treasure
that's found in the heart of a happy satisfied woman?

Caught in a maelstrom, circling down
Good Lord, I'm going to drown?
She pulls me away from impending doom
Steering me into a safe lagoon

guidance and common intuitive sense
calmly ensuring our providence
Just a sturdy dock, a comf'torble slip, She say's

"I'll be the tug, hon, and you be the ship

Shiver me timbers, it seems like she's giving her life to me

the Treasures of a woman
take them if you can
untold riches are waiting for the wise and worthy man

Treasures of a woman
honor her and then
tell me how can you measure the worth of the treasure
that's found in the heart of a happy satisfied woman?

Well she keeps me safe from harm
but she's worried and alarmed
when some of my rust and barnacles are beginning to show

She says they got to go!
no way to tell her no.
so she's stubbornly rubbing
she's chipping and scrubbing
from stem to stern
try'ng to make me sparkle and glow

Treasures of a woman
take them if you can
untold wealth is waiting for the wise and worthy man
Treasures of a woman
honor her and then
you'll discover the pleasures and glittering treasures
that dwell in the soul of a happy satisfied woman?

Treasures of a woman
honor her and then
you'll uncover the pleasures, glittering treasures
there in the heart of a grateful satisfied woman?

Purity and grace.

What was your process on this? (for the recording)

What kind of commentary are you seeking for this? Writing, recording, ?????

I write lyrics to express myself. I'm a below average musician and vocalist, and I don't have a band, so I sing them myself, with my daughters doing the female parts, and I use BIAB to devise tentative accompaniments.

That's it.

Thanks for asking though.

First, don't ever put yourself down.... It's ok to say you're a beginner, or that you still have a lot to learn, but don't ever put yourself down.

Well.... average means better than the worse, and worse than the better.... with half above and half below your average level....

The good thing is you don't have to stay at that level unless you choose to stay there.

One of the big reasons I bought Band in A Box was because it had instruments in it that I could not play. I soon discovered that if I treated those tracks as if a real musician had come to my studio and played them for me, I could add them to my mix and create a professional sounding song.

With BB and a little bit of time and effort, you are limited only by your imagination and skill set. Both of which can be improved.

Take a minute and go to my web site and the music page.... listen to the top 6 tunes on that page and realize that every single one of them was created with Band in A Box and Real Band.... on The Best Christmas.... there is NO live players at all, just a singer and BB/RB. Creative editing techniques created that guitar solo....You have BB which means you have the same software I have and used to create this song. You simply need to learn some things.

Learn about this hobby and improve your skills and work on creating better music. It is totally doable.

If you have questions, simply ask. People here are friendly and helpful and will be more than willing to jump in and help you learn.

I hope this helps.

Loved your lyrics. Creating lyrics has been something I just can't get a bead on. Songs will get better and better and I must say there is some excellent support in this forum.

lyrics have always been the hard part for me too. That is why I seek out good lyric writers who are better at it than me. By working with a few writers of lyric I have learned how to write better on my own. I'm no expert by any means. Teaming up with a good wordsmith can really jump start your skills.

Read as many different books on songwriting and lyric crafting. There are many different ways to write and come up with ideas. However, the best way to really get better is to write, write, write, write, and than write some more.

Just like practicing scales on a piano or chords on a guitar, writing lyrics on paper takes repetition and perseverance to improve. Progress is slow but over time you will notice a difference and an improvement in how easy the ideas and words come and the quality of the writing as well.

The more you write, the faster you improve. The folks who write one song a year or maybe two will never see improvement. The person writing on a daily basis, even if it's not a complete song is the one who will in a short time be crafting exceptional lyrics.

Just my thoughts.

side bar comment: I have 2 songs I'm working on currently with the same lyric co-writer. One is my lyrical idea, the other is hers. They are for the song challenge and when I put them up I will identify who's ideas are predominate in which song.

I can often just send her a song title and a basic idea of what I;m thinking the song should be about and she comes back in a day or two with some verses and choruses which we then start to refine. Back and forth, give and take, until we think that's as far as we can take it. Working with a co-writer forces one to think outside of that box in which we all exist. She comes up with things that would never occur to me and vice versa... in the end, the song is better than either of us could have written alone.

Example: Come & Go (Rose) on my music site.... we worked on that song back and forth for several weeks on the initial writing and then also over several months with a screener at the Nashville Song writers Association to slice and dice with professional advice in the mix as well.....meanwhile, we were writing other things.... always keep writing....

Kent,

These are some of the best lyrics I've ever read. I love the sing-song quality to the tune as well. Reminiscent of early Paul Simon stuff.

Well done.

Bob

This so artistic. I really liked it!.

It's a challenge to keep a listener engaged past three mins or so, but I wanted to hear all of this. Fascinating lyrics.

Loved the harmony and the vocal trade-offs. Having spent some time on the big pond myself, I appreciate all of the nautical references and the imagery. A clever idea and an excellent production.

So I will praise women in general.

Women are the most beautiful creatures on this planet, bar none. To experience a woman's love is the greatest joy imaginable.

To describe a woman in physical terms alone is a gross injustice. They are so much more than beautiful "objects" and deserve to be told so every single day, without fail. They will protect you from your adversaries with a warrior's skills and determination then warm you with their own body heat when you are weak or ill, asking so little in return.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
