Tommy,

Nice song. I guess you had to get out of the doghouse with your wife, so this one was due. smile

I enjoy your work.

That's a very nice song Tommy. Great use of realtracks and a fine mix. The vocals sits right where it ought to and sounds fine. The steel background and fills are sweet....but, hey, can you write a commercial country song nowadays and still use steel smile

Tom,

I liked your original introduction/explanation...Welcome to the dark-side!

This is a very good write.

The opening is really well done. Opening licks often feel like "they were jut put there because" and don't necessarily fit the song. Yours fits (but I would eliminate the very beginning "big hit" (the cymbal crash, I think) - so the guitar is the focus.

I hesitate to talk about specific lyrics, but I really like this one, so I'm "gonna stick my nose in where it don't belong.."

The word "even" reduces the impact of your (very cool) hook (IMO, of course)...

"I don't know.... If Angels Dance..."

would be stronger. It is a BEAUTIFUL chorus (either way).

The middle lead guitar is as nicely done as the opening.

I'm stickin' my nose in again... (insert all the usual disclaimers...)

The structure is a bit odd.. Verse-Chorus-V-C-solo-C-Bridge-V-C-tag.
I think the song would be more effective going to the bridge right out of the solo and then to the chorus-tag. You might even do the chorus twice. "Going back to the story" in the last verse made my attention wander (And I really like the song!). It is nice information, but I think the song would be better without it...

All that being said... I like it! This is my favorite tommyad song!

Best tommyad write. Best tommyad vocal. Excellent mix. Excellent harmonies.

Well done...

floyd

Floyd made some great points I would have never thought of but all in all this was a very good song and production.

Steve, You are correct about the doghouse, but I have a few more in the pipeline that will put me back in there. Thanks

Scott, Thanks for the listen and comments.

Bud, You're right. Not enough steel today. I get obsessed with it. Thanks for listen and comments.

Floyd, This is exactly why I post these songs. Great observations!! I think you're on the mark on all of it. I'll redo the entire song and repost it. Thanks so much for taking

the time to help. It will make this write much better.

Danny, Thanks for listening and commenting. Tom

This is one great country song and I loved it. The mix was spot on IMHO. Your vocal was strong and that chorus is simply fantastic. I also think that this is your best to date!

Although Floyd made some good points I think that this version is super and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Really nice song and sound Tommy. For me, I would have liked a little more reverb on the vocals. I like love song vocals a little more dreamy sounding. Just my taste. You do great work on your productions.

Hi Tommy,

Try as I might, I just can't shake the word "Wow" from my head. This is so very very good.

When I read the title, I tried to work out what kind of song could be written around "If Angels Dance". I didn't anticipate what you came up with. It's incredibly clever. To quote floyd "This is a very good write."

What a great song!

All the best,
Noel

Cant believe I havent posted on this - I've listened to it a few times.
I'm a sucker for a Love Song and this is one of the best.
The middle guit solo just fits right - I had to check your post to see if you had played it or if it was that chap, Brent.
The Outro is a bit wonky, sounds like two different Outros one on top of the other but thats a minor crit. (Still not convinced that PG has put enough thought / effort into real sounding Endings.)
Loved it, Tommy
cheers
ian

Hi Again, Tommy...

Very nice, indeed! We really like this one a bunch. Like the deep reverb on the lead guitar. When used properly, that extra reverb can really fill out a track. This a winner in our book! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
