With the rest of the team taking a Christmas break, I had to do this one completely on my own, including the ooohs, which involved me singing a top "A" and I can tell you, this isn't where I normally like to hang around. I couldn't put the title up front in case the MODs thought it was spam and trashed it, but it's for all you people who enjoyed the Christmas shopping (or not). Yes, it's all recorded, mixed and mastered in Powertracks (simply the best ever DAW, IMO) so no RTs, sorry. Best played nice and loud - especially you, Floyd! So here we go - a bit of frivolity to start the New Year. SHOPPINGYour heart beats fast, your mouth is dry You can't shake it off, no matter how you try The feeling's too strong, you can't resist It settles on you like a strange red mist You're going shopping, way downtown. You only have to want it, you don't have to need it You don't know what it is, but you'll know it when you see it The feeling's too strong, you can't resist It settles on you like a strange red mist You're going shopping. Don't forget that credit card. A little piece of plastic gets you everything you please But don't run out of credit or they'll bring you to your knees The feeling's too strong, you can't resist It settles on you like a strange red mist You're going shopping. Better take some hard cash. When it gets late and it's closing time It's time to go home and start shopping on-line The feeling's too strong, you can't resist It settles on you like a strange red mist You're going shopping. You just can't get enough. And a very happy New Year to you all. ROG.

Man I hate shopping..... one of those necessary evils IMHO....
Cool song... very well done... nice wide sound on these speakers.
I like the groove of the song.... retro....reminds me of Marie Laveaux (just the groove)
Job well done.

Loved it Rog! A combi of Abracadabra and Money for Nothing styles. What a Cracker! Loved the lyrics - got me laughing cos we had a rush of blood pre-Christmas and have bought TWO new 10" Tablets - and now we wonder why. Great mix - full, rich and bounces round my little rubber room nicely with the monitors turned up. Move over Mark -Rog is a-coming ! HAPPY NEW YEAR, Rog and Crew Ian

Bravo, ROG! I heard a mild, subdued Dylan in your vox. Very pleasant production, my friend. Thanks for posting.

Hi ROG,
"you don't know what it is but you'll know it when you see it" - too true.
Fun stuff. Sounds great and I thought you did a bang up job on the ooo's.

Dani - Pleased that it made you chuckle! I've got a grown up daughter too, so you can see where the idea came from.
Herb - Thanks for the listen. I'm glad you liked the groove, if not the shopping.
Ian - I'm a great fan of both Steve Miller and Mark Knopfler, so that was a complement indeed. The rubber room sounds a bit naughty, but I'm glad the mix worked well in it!
Bob - Perfect? That'll do nicely. Many thanks.
Guenter - Always looking for that groove. Just made it on the oohs, but I'll be pleased to have the girls back.
ROG.

Number one: A hearty plus one on what's already been well said. Enjoyable in all aspects. Number two: Thank heavens for Amazon.

Alyn - Just counting down those days, old pal. When the girls get back we're going to be swapping shopping stories for weeks. Don't you just love it!
Don - It means a lot to me to see you stopping by for a listen. Many thanks for the kind words my Irish chum.
Josie - I like to think the song is about my daughter, but I suspect that particular line comes from personal experience. Hey, thanks for the confidence booster about the ooohs!
Robert - Many thanks. You were very kind about my guitar playing.
Floyd - Yes, yes, I can get along with "awesome". I think Alyn has made us all sit up and take notice. He's certainly made me look very closely at what I'm writing these days. Thanks for all the positives.
ROG.

Scott - Thanks for the listen and the nice comments.
Janice and Bud - Glad you enjoyed it. I second you comments about Amazon!
Rob - Many thanks. The ending took me longer than the rest of the song, so I'm pleased it worked for you.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
