Here's a progression I've had in my head for several months now, but I didn't have any lyrics. So a couple of weeks ago I come up with an idea for an "On Fire Love"... Which includes most of the cliché's you could imagine. wink

This is not the feel I had in my head for this song, but after messing around with quite a few different styles... I decided this was a pretty cool way to do it. cool I mention that because someone posted recently that they couldn't get BIAB to do what they were hearing in their head and it was bothering them. I'm sure we've all had that problem... I don't think of that as a problem anymore. I just let BIAB be a tool to help me expand on what I hear in my head. grin Anyway just my .02 on that.

I've listed the RT's below, other than that it's me on the vocals and my Telecaster "Trigger" on leads & fills.

All comments welcome.

On Fire Love

©2014 Words & Music: Greg Achord

I often wonder just how do you know for sure

I’m looking for a sign

Could this be real or just another fantasy

That’s messin’ with my mind

I think it’s real cause there’s a spark I feel down deep inside

It’s smolderin’ for you

Where there’s smoke there’s fire I’m just hopin’

That you feel it too

A burnin’ arrow has pierced my heart

I got an on fire love for you

And I don’t think there’s a way to put it out

It’s stuck in deep and I just can’t keep

From letting’ you know

I tell you girl I got an on fire love for you

There’s those who say the heart just will infatuate

You gotta’ learn to read the signs

They’re all around you it’s a chemical imbalance

Of the romance kind

Some times your heart sees clearly but your mind don’t know

Is it true / Is it right

I’ve struck a match for you now just sit back

And watch our love ignite

(Chorus) (Ride) (Chorus) tag

Hi Greg,

The introduction really made me sit up and pay attention! The sound was brilliant. And then you kept the same super level of presentation throughout the entire song.

To my ears, "On Fire Love" is chockablock full of energy, explodes with professionalism and is a terrific testimony to your abilities as a songwriter, an arranger, a performer and a producer.

Great stuff!

All the best,
Noel

Hey Greg...

I think this is the first time to listen to you. We've only been here about 3 weeks and still looking around.

Love that uptempo Bluegrass. Nice instrumental tracks and your voice is a great fit for this. That was a great listen...thanks!

A good one there Greg.
Super vocal and I love your Tele playing!
Mix-wise I wanted to hear the drums a bit more?

Greg,

Great high-energy production. Excellent pickin' - and you matched that fiddle up with it really well!!!

A pedal-to-the-metal fun listen.

Greg,

As others have said this is a high energy, fun loving, toe tapping production with excellent vocals, lyrics and backing tracks. The mix was top notch IMHO. That was really great picking man!

Noel - Thanks so much... You make me blush blush with all the nice things you have to say!

Al & Di - Nice to have you guys here and thanks for the comments.

Scott - Thanks buddy.

Josie - I thank you... As does Trigger. wink

John - Thanks for the listen & nice comments... I've had an issue with brushes being too "In Your Face" on previous tunes so I'm probably erring on the side of caution. I may bump 'em up a bit after your comment.

Guenter - Thanks. Trigger thanks you too! grin

Floyd - Thank you. I really enjoy trying to get my guitar to mesh with the RT's.

Karel - Thanks for the kind words. I love the fiddle RT's! grin

Mario - Thank you sir! The pickin can be a bit of a challenge at 135bpm. crazy

Herb - Thanks for the listen. I appreciate it.

Wow! as an ole bluegrasser I gotta say that is a great mix. The vocal is spot on and wonderfully supported by Trigger and the RT's. BG is a LOT harder to mix than most folks realize and a big tip of the hat to you for this one. Fine pickin' by you and the "PG Pickers" band. Thanks for throwing this out here!

Tommy - Hey thanks for the listen.

Olemon - Thanks for the comments... Trigger thanks you too.

Dani - Hey thank you so much... It's currently my favorite too. wink

Bud - Thank you very much. I take that as quite a compliment coming from you... as you are "The Man" when it comes to bluegrass! cool

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
