Hi all,

As one of my most listened songs on Soundcloud was Cantata 147 I thought I should have a try with another by my favourite composer J.S.B.
I chose Brandenburger Concerto No 3 BWV 1048 in G Maj 1st Movement.
In a TV commercial I heard a Santana song and got the idea to combine the two.
This is what came out.
The drums are CoyoteWT. (I have no percussion in EZ Drummer).
Piano and Bass are MIDI from L_GUARCH.STY.
In the middle part there are strings and brass which I played myself as I did with the Santana organ.
Vocals: Vocaloid Avanna (4 tracks) and selfmade samples (1 track).
Only RealTrack used: RT 404 Sax, Tenor, HipHop Rock Swing

http://soundcloud.com/boehmusic/bwv-1048

I hope you enjoy.

Awesome Guenter! Are you the only composer in the solar system doing songs like this? I can't imagine the inventive thought processes behind this. JSB and Santana -- how cool is that! Man, when you start stirring that big musical pot there's just no telling what's gonna cook up. Can't wait to play this for a couple of friends. Great production.

Another outstanding performance, full of expression and surprises. The vocaloid is characteristically unique.

I really like the Salsa feel sitting behind the melody and what a great introduction.

You mentioned "This is what came out." I suspect it was a bit more complicated than you give yourself credit for.

Nice!

Guenter,

Great piece of music to begin with. The girls do a fantastic cover!
(that has GOT to take some time to get right!).

The percussion compliments the piece nicely. Definitely the first time I've hear a sax solo in the concerto. The underlying rhythm there is nice.

A beautiful mix. That aspect almost gets lost in the listening - the music is so incredibly amazing, you miss the fact that it is all "put together" so well.

As always, huge WOW factor.

All I can say is WOW!

This is just plain fantastic. You are very creative and have a very interesting selection of sound sources here. Plus you mixed them perfectly IMO!

I guess Santana said “I’ll be Bach”! Ducking and running for cover grin

This is a keeper!

Hi Guenter, like most of the stuff you do or at least have posted here, this one is as fantastic. Trying to think what is behind someone's thoughts when creating something is very hard if not impossible. Very fun piece.

Hi Guenter,

The minute this started playing, it reminded me of the Swingle Singers (see link below).

Swingle Singers

That being said, and as skilful as the Swinger Singers are, I much prefer your version. I love the way that you've creatively mashed classical with contemporary and carried us through on the back of a Salsa.

You music always amazes! Always!

Best regards,
Noel

Hi Guenter
This is stunning. The vocaloid does so well with the dum-dum-dees. Loved it. So creative. I don't believe I had heard the male vocaloid before.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
