This is my first song on the forum, but I've played on songs for other people as part of ROG's team. I'm playing all the guitars, but I don't sing, so ROG, Jessie and Courtney are doing all the vocals. The sax is an RT from ROG's BiaB. The US place names sound so much better to us than the British ones, even though we just took them from Google maps. SHE KEPT ON DRIVINGShe left home without any money She left home without looking back Threw her bag in the back of the Chevvy Spun her wheels down the old dirt track. She was driving down the highway Santa Barbara down to Thousand Oaks Long Beach down to San Diego Tijuana into Mexico And she just... She kept on driving And she's never gonna stop 'til the sun goes down. She stopped off at a roadside diner A guy said "are you on your own?" She said "that's the way it's staying" "Don't even think it 'cos I'll soon be gone" And she was driving down the highway Mexicali then across to Tucson Albuqurque into Amarillo Oklahoma through Arkansas Thanks for listening and all comments welcome. Beth.

Beth,
Welcome! (again!...I know we've heard some nice guitar work from you before).
Stellar "first song"! An enjoyable ride. A good write and a good production. Cool chorus.
I like your choice of vocalist (I'm a ROG-voice fan). The BGVs are tasty. Cool tone on the solo - and nice and lyrical (another thing that I'm a fan of - lyrical guitar).
Excellent mix (ROG) - nice job with that sax! - but (personal choice here - you know how that is...) I think it needs a snappier, crisper snare - the snare here is "thud-y" - not a sound that I hear in the stuff I listen to. Again - I know that is a personal preference - but I think the song deserves that "snap"...
I enjoyed the listens! Keep 'em coming, Beth!

Hi, Beth & ROG + Team !
This was really a nice surprise (not a surprise really as everything that comes out of that factory is superb !:)) As a big BB fan I could imagine all of you heading for the sea with your surfing boards waxed (chuckle) !!:))
Cheers Dani

Nice work! This has a great feel, and is written in a comfortable, conversational style. I think it would be a stronger song if you get into the mind of the main character. You have set it up well, but we don't know why she "keeps on driving". A verse about a bad relationship or something would help tell a story I think you've begun very nicely by engaging the listener. Just a thought. I enjoyed it! Take care. Greg

Hi Beth Firstly, welcome to the forum. This is a great first post. I am sure Roger is great to work with and has done wonders with the production and vocals on this one. Good strong first write.
PS. I think you played the guitars on my track Tissue Paper Child - Thanks for that!

The girls and I had lots of fun putting the vocals on this track for Beth.
I kinda agree with Floyd that a snappier snare might have worked, but I disagree with Greg about the story. For me, the mystery is a big part of the song and the listener makes up their own scenario. I've got several!
It's a great guitar riff that Beth's used to underpin the verses and the whole thing really moves. I must do that road trip one day.
ROG.

Love that rock and roll! Just my 2cents but would have liked more of the sax from 2.00 to 2.30. Cheers.

Beth and ROG, This is so cool! I love the vibe and the understated break. Great vocals and arrangement. I agree with floyd's observation about the snare. Great Job! Tom

Take a bow! There's lot going on in this good song and the mix provided for it all. Well done.
I loved the solo guitar feeling/tone/delay. Way to go!
p.s. I'll be flying into Tucson next Sat to visit family, and I'll be remembering this song:)

Hi Beth, "She Kept On Driving" is an incredibly strong write lyrically and melodically and it's arranged and produced to perfection. When I sat down to write this post after having listened to it a few times, I found it difficult to choose between using an image of 'wow' or one of 'awesome'. I was going to use both but then it occurred to me that I'd better save something for your next post ROG has sure raised the 'production bar' in the forum with what he's done. In addition, ROG's, Courtney's and Jessie's vocals get a huge round of applause from me - professional all the way!!! Lastly, the change in feel when the guitar solo comes in is a touch of arranging genius. It provides excellent contrast and suits the theme of the song incredibly well. Whoever thought of that deserves a gold medal. Whichever way I look at it, this song shines. All the best, Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
