Hello everyone,

Our new song:

Out on the street

Many years ago, about 1994, Rob met this homeless man who told him his story. This led him to write this song .
Originally composed on a Roland E-10 Keyboard. This is the new Band in a Box R & AM version (the original intro samples were kept intact).
It took a while to get the right soloist for this song. Brent Mason (who else :-) ) turned out to be the best.
The video might struck you as kind of gloomy, but we think it suits the song quite well.

Any comments are welcome.

lyrics:

out on the street
there's a ragged man I wanted to meet
he said I'll find a way to make you see
my way of life it worries me

I myself I wander about
and see the people I must do without
you know I'd cry a tear or two
considering the things they do

and though I take good care
no one seems to want me there
there's a way to forget
the wicked things that people said

in a way I'm glad you see
as I roam around in my fantasy
and there's a lot of friends I meet
though they remain in my reality

the reason I go on you see
is a need to find some harmony
I can't live feeling all I do
is what the people want me to

and though I take good care
no one seems to want me there
there's a way to forget
the wicked things that people said

Used real tracks:

Bass Pop Half Notes Ev 85
Accordion Rhythm Pop 8 Ths Ev 85
High Strung Acoustic Fingerprinting Pop 16 ths
Mandolin Rhythm Pop 16 Sync Ev 85
Guitar Electric Rhythm Pop 16 Ths Gritty Ev 16 85
Viola Background Pop Ev 85
real drums: Praiseworshipslow 16ths
Soloist: CountryBrent 85

R & AM

Hi there Rob and Anne-Marie.

Wonderful song with the feel of a 60s folk/protest song, the sort of thing Leonard Cohen might have written.

Lovely arrangement and production of both the track and the video.

Vocals and harmony were excellent. I can't believe how you manage to do all this not in your native language. It's hard enough for us native English speakers. All credit to you.

ROG.

Really great stuff!! Music works perfectly with all parts fitting together in a sweet and seamless fashion. I love the musical change that occurs as the chorus begins. I think we have another gem! Take care. Greg

Rob and Anne-Marie...

A terrific mix of instruments and wonderful arrangement.

Beautiful vocals and harmonies, as always. An excellent mix.

And a beautiful song. The verses had a bit of a "Harry Chapin flavor" which was perfect for the storyline.

A very enjoyable listen.

Band-in-a-Box® 2016 for Windows - Build 435 Update Available!

If you're using Band-in-a-Box® 2016 for Windows, there's a new patch with updates that can be downloaded! Download it here.

This patch includes:
Added: "Highlight selected cell" checkbox added to Display Options. If enabled, the currently selected cell will be highlighted instead of just out-lined. Select "Cell highlighting" in the color picker to pick the highlighting color. This feature is useful for JAWS Screen Reader users.
Added: "Play when chosen" option added to StylePicker.
Updated: Help file.
Updated: PDF User Guide.
Fixed: Clicking on the Print button in the Big Lyrics window would open the old version of the Options for Copy Lyrics to Clipboard dialog.
Fixed: Diminished chords were recognized wrong when "Treat 'dim' chord as a diminished triad (Cdim5) instead of CDim7" setting was disabled. Entering a 'dim' or 'dim7' chord would result in a 'dim5' chord. Entering a 'dim5' chord would result in no chord.
Fixed: In the Notation Window, changing modes with the right-click menu would not highlight the correct mode button (eg. from editable to regular mode).
Fixed: It is not possible to enter "Faug" as a slash chord, unless typing Roman Numerals ('iv') or Nashville Notation ('4') for the root.
Fixed: It is not possible to enter 'Fadd2' as a slash chord, unless typing Roman Numerals ('iv') or Nashville Notation ('4') for the root.
Fixed: Lines drawn under the stave in the lead sheet.
Fixed: Song memo did not show information about audio loops or UserTracks in song.
Fixed: The GUI for some VST plugins did not fit into the plugins window. An example plugin is XLN Addictive Drums 2.
Fixed: The GUI for some VST plugins sometimes change size, and the plugins window would not grow or shrink to match. An example plugin is the Roland soundCANVAS VA.
Fixed: The Higher Banks dialog was limited to 1983 patches. The new limit is 10000.
Fixed: The lead sheet print range always defaulted to the first chorus.
Fixed: The right-click menu in the Notation Window would not do anything if in non-editable mode.
