After the positive comments about my last track Believe I thought I would share the final track on the album. This was created in the same way as Believe in that song started in Ez-keys moved to BIAB where multiple soloist takes were done then spliced together to form a composite track for the Melody, then into Logic where some additional drums were added and mixed with the real tracks.

Stronger Everyday

Thanks
Adrian

Nice tune... Mellow.

The sax seemed a bit too dry and loud for proper seating into the mix.

The thing about using RB tracks is that it's hard to get them to establish a melodic theme that identifies the verses and differentiates them from choruses..... but hey, nice jam anyway. RB tracks work well when you don't exactly need a melodic theme in the music.

I hate faded endings. I rarely hear faded endings in live performances,,,, yeah it happens but most tunes are buttoned up in one way or another.

Good job on the song....I did like it.

Nice job on this. Getting the lead and backing music correctly balanced is something I struggle with on every mix -- but, I've also learned it is subjective to the listener as I have made the lead up front and center intentionally before because that is the way I heard the song in my head... I'm only wrong if the mix becomes a distraction to everyone who listens, which sometimes it does. Therefore, the sum of all the comments you get will ultimately give you the answer if your mix works or not.

I agree with Guitarhacker that to my ears, if I were to alter anything about this, it would be to bring down the sax just a bit and I would place a reverb across the entire mix to create a feel of space for the entire song.

Well, I have just deleted several long paragraphs of unsolicited advice and will condense my comments to say that I assume this is your completed work and I think you did a very commendable job.

Enjoyed this as well as "Believe". I think you have a good album to present to your fans.

Hello Adrian,

I like the song, it's very melodic.
I do however agree with the comments of Charlie and Guitarhacker. the saxophone should be a little bit less loud, also a tiny bit of reverb (maybe also a little delay) would be nice.

Regards,
Rob

Hi thanks all

I have really struggled with the balance of this song. The sax is the main focus but the piano is a very integral part of it so trying to get both of these in the mix has been a challenge I do agree about loudness of sax and the remix now has the volume down and the reverb and delay increased.

Thanks again for the kind comments

I like everything about it. Are you using mastering software? If not Ozone can incredibly enhance a mix...or destroy it smile I've finally made through all 53 of our BIAB compositions over the last two years mastering them. It's amazing how, for example a dry sax, etc., can suddenly pop when the production is mastered. I'm a work in process with Ozone but will never turn back.

Hi ...

Good to "meet" you. I think we are listening to the edited version. The sax sounds about right. But, in our opinion, it would really have warmth and a soft strength with just a bit more reverb. Also, on some songs song, probably not this one, though, adding reverb to the drums really accents them without making them too loud or intrusive. The only change we would make is putting a little more reverb on the sax.

Faded endings have kind of faded out (pun intended!) in recent years. If there's a way to avoid them, it's usually a good idea to do so.

We loved the song!!! A real nice piece of easy listening that sat very nicely in our ears. Great write! Good luck with it! Best to ya!

Thanks for the listens and comments. The remixed version is not up yet so it's the same version you are all listening too. I always use ozone on all my tracks since discovering it a couple of years back it's incredible will post a link to the remix when I'm happy with it.

Thanks again for lovely comments

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
