It's never difficult to start me talking about dogs. The hard part is getting me to stop. Lovable but sometimes challenging creatures.

Cute video and nice tune too. Finlay is a darling.

Hi Josie,

thanks for a funny Saturday afternoon.
I like your tune, some nice progression.
Next time please show a little more of Finlay and not so much TV screen.
Liked the "jumps" video, too. Regards to your daughter.

That was great! You already know I love Findlay. He reminds me so much of our Westie Toto, who also quite enjoyed himself watching TV when he was alive. I laughed out loud when that cat came on and he poked his head to double check the shelf.

The music was a great fit.

Hi, Jo !:))

(chuckle and giggle) !
Finley reminds me of
my wife´s poodle Ludde,
who loved liquorice
more than anything else
in this world ! He got completely
crazy if you mentioned that
word so we had to start
talking about "black magic"
instead just to fool him (chuckle) !!:))
That was all way back in
time ................!

Nice tune and video !!!:))

Cheers
Dani

I`ll bet Finlay is exhausted after an hour of TV!! Fun music-really interesting variety within the same musical structure. Thanks for sharing! Take care. Greg

Haha, my Great Dane used to watch TV, but sat close to the screen so we could see nothing because of her size! I think she was short-sighted and needed glasses!!
Thanks for reminding me of her, Findlay seems to have a lot of character!!

Thanks for sharing

Hi Charlie – I know how you love seeing the videos with my pup in it.

Guenter – thanks for that. It was just a quick video I made with my iphone. I will put up a better one soon. Glad you also viewed the “training” one. I have posted another one where Finlay is simply not interested in the jumps and the kids are getting very frustrated. It is quite sweet.

Hi Josie – yes, I know you love Finlay. I am sure you miss Toto terribly.

Dani – That is such a lovely story about Ludde and “black magic”. We also have to spell out the word “walk” otherwise Finlay goes mad, although he usually knows from our body language what we are planning. At 4:30 on the nose he starts asking for a walk, even if he has been out all morning.

Greg – Its quite exhausting for us I can tell you. Sometimes when we go out we leave the TV on Animal Planet so that he has some company.

Noel – Isnt BIAB a fantastic tool? It was an afterthought to add the BIAB tune and I am sure it livens it up.

Robert – Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!

Alyn – Love the story about the Great Dane sitting infront of the TV and blocking the view. I can just picture it.

Hi Joanne,

My dog doesn't watch tv, sleeps mostly (more than 14 years old).
Nice to see your dog's enthusiasm laugh . The music fits in well.

Regards,
Anne-Marie

Rob and Anne-Marie - I guess when he is "98 years old" he deserves a good sleep.

Floyd - Thanks. Glad you found the instrumentation interesting

Bug and Janice - I waited 10 years until my husband finally relented and allowed me to get a dog (am I had to do some "bargaining" I tell you). Now Finlay sleeps between us on the bed.

I absolutely love this song! I don't know if you did it as a joke or what you were thinking really but it is fantastically creative! Your use of the swing clarinet in an even beat song is inspired!

It is a treat that Finlay has inspired you to compose such a delightful tune.

Hi Lawrence.

So glad you liked the tune!

I did it in collaboration with Mario in response to an advertising opportunity where they were looking for a genre bending piece and I thought this fit the bill nicely. Mario added some interesting instruments to the track and here is the version we called Hill Billy HipHop

Unfortunately neither track was selected. I think they were looking for something with an outrageous drum beat but I am still getting good reviews on it when I submit to suitable opportunities. Mario thinks I should try put some lyrics to it but I am not sure what I could say!!

It was an after thought to add it to Finlays video before uploading to Youtube.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
