This is my new buddy, Lilly.

She's about 7 months of age now.

Her back story: She was purchased to breed by someone who didn't understand that puppies are destructive by nature and need supervision. They were not prepared for the work or the time needed to mold her into a fine dog. So they tried to sell her. No one wanted to buy her. Then they tried to give her away. No takers either. So they decided they would simply shoot her and solve the problem. My daughter's boy friend Matt, heard of the impending doom of the dog and told the folks he would take her.

It was his full intention to keep Lilly. However, due to his work and school and the fact that his folks already have 3 other dogs, Lilly was more than he could handle. So we ended up dog sitting her for several weeks while he prepared a pen for Lilly in the back yard of his folk's house.

My wife and I played with Lilly and of course, I have another dog, an outside dog, who is very well behaved and trained and socialized so Lilly and he play together well. Lilly is house broken and we have kept her inside. My wife and I discussed Lilly's dilemma and decided to float the possibility to Matt that we would be interested in adapting her if he decided that she was a bit too much for him to properly handle with his schedule. We discussed it with him and asked him to not make a hasty decision but to think on it and decide. If he wanted to keep Lilly, that was fine and we would be willing to dog sit her when needed, or if he wanted to let us have her, that too would be fine.

He decided that with his busy schedule, we would be the better place for her. So last week, she officially became part of our family. We will very likely ask him to dog sit on the occasions we are out of town. She's starting to settle in to her new home. Those first few months of life were hectic being bounced around from one place to another but now she's starting to come out of her shell nicely. Now, we can start to work on some training and some fun.

Oh yeah..... she is full blooded German Shepard.

Super! Dogs can be a lot of work but they also are a lot of fun. We have three Shih-Tzus.

I'm positive that both you and Lilly will be happy for a long time.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

I love dogs and cats and used to keep both, but had to forego pets because of lifestyle changes.

Lilly looks sweet, but kinda sad. Here's hoping you can put the bounce back in her bungee before long!

She's beautiful Herb. Glad she's found her forever home with you where she'll be loved.

That's her " what? another picture?" look. She's full of bounce.... trust me on that.

Hi Herb,
That's a nice story about a nice dog.
Five years ago I took care of Sita, a "sort of" Shepard/Pitbul.
Until then she had been locked in a shed for more than 9 years at a farmer's place nearby (I live in the countryside). Had been on a diet of potato peels.
Turned out to be a lovely dog for me, not for strangers. Always wanted to "defend" me, but fortunately she also liked Rob very much.
She died a view weeks ago almost 14 1/2 years old. I am glad I have been able to give her 5 good years.
Don't know how to post a photo here.
Kind regards,
Anne-Marie

Switch to the full reply screen. Then there are icons directly above the window you type into.

The fourth one from the left is " INSERT IMAGE "

I recommend that you get a free account with a file sharing site or photobucket dot com..... copy the web address link and paste it into the window that pops up when you click on the INSERT IMAGE icon.

It displays as letters until you click on submit....

Aha, that's the way.
Well, as I don't have such an account at the moment, this might be the fastest way to show her:
Some time ago, when Rob only recorded covers,
we recorded She's got a Way and added a video with Sita being "She".

Another way to post a picture - click on "File Manager" below the text area. It allows you to search for image you want include in your message. It's sort of a storage vault for pictures and other file types. When you've finished composing your message then click File Manager and tick files or pictures you want to attach to your message.

.Like so:

PS: Lily has the pensive, inquisitive look of an EXTREMELY intelligent dog.

If she's that smart, you could probably skip bass and move straight to teaching her keyboards...

JosieC, that may work with Finlay but not my German Shepherd, Justice - no room under the covers with her there.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
