Okay: This is what I am trying to do:
I put together a song and now I want to add vocals.
So I go to the audio record page and record the main vocal.
Now I want to add back up vocals.
But I see only one track there and can find no way to create others.
I know I can record over the first vocal - But when I try I cannot hear the original vocal making it difficult to harmonize with it.
And I cannot find any place with instructions on how to edit the vocals. (for instance, what if I want to delete a part, and move another part over a beat or two....?)
Any suggestions? Thanks.

You can only record one audio track with BiaB. To do what you want to do you will need a DAW. If you already don't have one BiaB comes with one called RealBand. There you can have as many as 48 different tracks.

If you are going to record more than one audio track then you will need to use a DAW.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Save your BiaB file and open it in RealBand. It is made to do specifically what you are trying to do. It also has effects and dynamics plug ins to polish your mix.

You received Realband with BiaB (comes with all flavors)

Located in C:\Realband usually.
If you have an external drive with BiaB on it Realband may be found there also (in case you didn't install it).

You may not know it but you have a whole new world to check out.
Realband incorporates BiaB features into a DAW so you can continue to expand your song .. yet retain BiaB features.
48 tracks (can be any mix of audio or MIDI, your choice)
ability to generate more BiaB tracks to experiment with
more agile production tools
more better

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Just surfing through these forums and came upon this post. Thanks! I learned something I didn't know....what Real Band was for. I often wondered how you would record more than one audio track. Now I know.

John F. Realband retains a lot of band in a box features and more. Another great feature of realband is the ability to re-generate selected portions of a track to fix an area of a track you are not satisfied with. Realband has multi riff that will create up to seven different versions of a track or section. You can either replace the section with your choice of the seven variations or save all the variations and cut/paste your own version out of the seven.

Plenty more features you will love. 48 tracks rather than 8 of BiaB. Realband files will open and BiaB and BiaB files will open in Realband.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
