That link is dead, but I hunted around and found a 2012 price of $6,500. One user said it booted in 20 seconds and ran faster than his installed memory. Newegg is out and "may or may not restock."

We are all musicians here. For our needs, there are really not huge differences in the performance of the best HDDs and SDDs, that warrant a 3x or higher price increase.
Think of what it would take for you to spend 3x on an instrument to one for which you really use well at present.
Is there anyone here handcuffed by HDD technology in your music making endeavors that makes these SSDs just the cat's meow? Perhaps the track generation goes insanely faster with SSD?
With how inexpensive HDD technology is per unit of memory, It's going to have to take a huge sea change of benefit to justify the cost. That's my opinion for what it's worth.

SSDs will probably replace HDDs but not in the next couple of years. I still remember when DRAMs did cost 1.000 DM per megabyte. (In today's money? I don't know but when we changed to Euros about 2 DM were replaced by € 1. That would be about USD 600 now.)
The standard HDD will be available for a very long time as a workhorse for large volume data storage. But I predict that in the not too far a way future the first laptops with only an SSD will be on the market, followed by Desktops.
The reason: Todays software developers are spoiled. They don't write memory efficent code no more. They use third, fourth and soon, if not already, fifth generation programming languages. The later the language the larger the code will be. I remember writing assembler programs for the PC smaller than 30, 40 bytes. The smallest I wrote once only used 9 bytes; fast loading and fast processing of data. The same program in C would be at least 5 digit kilobytes. And look at web pages: the more bandwidth is available the more crap is on a page that needs to be transported to even the remotest area with still slow dial-up telephone lines...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
