A new song from JonD and me! Lounge Lizards is our attempt to recreate a song that may have been played in those good old jazz lounges of yesteryear.

The BiaB style used was Cool Jazz Ballad (85 RS).
The drums and bass are verbatim while the piano and guitar parts were replaced. JonD is playing the keyboards. I am playing both rhythm and lead guitar as well as the wind controller.

We hope you like it.

PS - I am going on a photo shoot so if you don't hear from me don't worry :-} I will have my Linux notebook so I might be able to communicate but I definitely won't be able to listen to any music.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I can picture a song just as this being played in a jazz bar. Good recreation. Thanks for bringing us some "good old jazz" today.

Enjoy your photo shoot.

Pour me a martini, and play me a sad song while I pine over the dame who broke my heart! I really love this!! What is the controller and sax sample you use? They are amazing. Another wonderful production!! Take care. Greg

Nice playing!

Out of curiosity, what sax are you using through your wind controller?

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

That wind controller sure makes a convincing sax.
You, and JonD have a distinctive sound, instantly recognisable.

Good work

Enjoy the photo shoot

Fabulous! Wonderful playing and,
man, did you ever capture that vibe.

A big congrats to both of you for
creating this. We much enjoyed it.

Love the imagery mentioned in the

HI Mario ...

Well, I guess you know Di and I love this genre! We can see those Lizards in their funky suits cruising the tables with their compendium of worn-out and lame pick-up lines!

loved all the instruments and the arrangement. great stuff from you and Jon, as always! We totally loved it! Good luck on the photo shoot!

First I want to apologize for being so late in to thank everyone. The photo shoot was a bust as on the first day of shooting we were in a bad car accident; someone plowed into the back of our car. Thank God no one was injured. It looks like our car is totaled. We spend the good part of that day on the phone with car rental places and my insurance company. We rented a car and drove home the next day. What a bummer!

Anyway thanx to all that listening and the very nice comments!

For those who were interested I used an AKAI EWI-USB wind controller and the sound source was SampleModeling's saxes: http://www.samplemodeling.com/en/swam_saxophones.php

These are the most realistic sounding sax (soprano, alto, tenor and bari) emulation that I have ever heard.

Ps - It looks like I've got a lot of listening too to catch up!

Mario,

Really, really glad to read no one was hurt in the accident. Easy to understand why you might consider the day wasted but obviously could have been much worse.

Thanks for sharing the breathe controller and soft synth used. I NEVER would have guessed the sax track was a soft synth instead of a real instrument miked to perfection. Much of that is due to you and your knowledge of how to use the midi breathe controller. As you said the soft synth has a good, natural sound.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
