We are hoping to use the Favorites Songs feature along with the Jukebox for playing backing tracks. We would like to use the setting "Pause Play Until MIDI or Key Received", so songs won't start immediately. Works fine except for one little glitch with our setup. We like to keep the Memo window visible while playing, with a listing of the song form (who solos or sings on which choruses). The only good place to put that without obscuring other buttons that we need is the upper right. But the yellow pop-up window saying "Playback paused until..." is covering the memo; just at the time we need to see it before starting to play! Is there any possible way to change the location of that pop-up? My guess would be the answer is "No", but thought I would give it a try. Thanks...
Right, I don't think users can adjust the placement of those alerts.
This looks to me like a very good topic to post in the BIAB Wishlist Forum, rather than here. I'll bet you get support for the request. But first, wait a bit and make sure I'm right; someone here may know how to control those alerts. I do remember some discussion about this in beta testing when the new mixer window was rolled out, but I don't recall a solution. We discussed that the whole GUI was new, especially the upper right of the screen, and would be getting more options for customization. Maybe that's already in the works for version 2015?

Checkout the screenshot and see if this helps. Note the Help regarding how long to "show" hints, I think if you set it to zero it turns if off. Hope this is helpful. Cheers.
Good thought; I had also considered turning off the messages but when I tried unchecking all four of those text hints checkboxes, the yellow message still shows until you press a key. Same thing for shortening the times to 0, 1000. So, I don't think you can hide this particular message to Press a Key until you actually do so.
On my laptop, surprise, the yellow message box shows up in the LOWER right corner.?
Anyway, perhaps the Wishlist request should be to be able to specify the position of the alert.

Odd that your alert window is in the lower RIGHT. I'm on BIAB 2013, and I'm guessing you're on 2014? Maybe they made the change and I just need to upgrade??
I would think they would want to make it difficult to totally suppress that pop-up, as a user not paying attention could be clueless as to why his song wasn't playing. But bottom right seems to make more sense, as there's really nothing there you would need to see when starting the song.
I am on 2014, latest build. The alert is on the lower right on my desktop as well. Perhaps this has indeed been changed in version 2014. I haven't done anything to alter the default position, as I never used this feature until testing it for you.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
