Hey guys, I am sitting in a bar in western Canada and there is a guy at the end of the bar - looks like he's been here all night. Well, he claims BIAB 2015 will be released next Tuesday with 50 new features. Also something about a realtrack cowbell! grin

I was just getting ready to start my annual "new release speculation" thread, and DANG if it ain't already here! Good job Ian!

In a world of infinite possibilities, we can speculate ourselves into a guaranteed state of dissatisfaction since its certain that we will think up things that don't get added, then feel disappointed. So this year, I'm just gonna sit back and wait to see what's new. I'm always surprised in a good way.

as far as speculation goes, I was kinda hoping that the recent forum down time might be related to preparing for the massive downloads that are (hopefully) soon to begin.

wink

I'm especially excited about this year's release, because I just retired, and I'll have all the time I want to play with it!

I heard from very reliable sources, well maybe reliable sources that BiaB 2015 is going to run exclusively on an Atari ST 4. That means they are dropping the PC versions and concentrating on the more stable Atari system.

Details at 11:00..................................ducking and running for cover.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

HE he I say no more upgrades for me. I have everything I need and more. don't use what I have. But then again I say that every year don't I? I guess I'd better squirrel away a few dollars cause Peter and gang are sure to entice mw with something.

Use a real scoring program to do your scores. It will save a lot of headaches (usually, but they have their issues as well).

I'm patiently but eagerly waiting for only ONE feature for the 2015 version of BIAB: 64-bit.

That's it! Period. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no mo'!

I'd be happy if only RB was 64 bit, since that's the part of my production cycle when I need more available memory for plugins.

When using BIAB I'm more interested in features that speed up the process of capturing the basic idea before I forget it.

Yes indeed.

I have to reply of course. I'm tired of all the comments that 32 bit software is all that is needed by most people. That simply is not the case.

My opinion is that 64 bit is needed .... It isn't a NEW idea. It is long overdue and is the only logical progression for Band In A Box and Real Band.

The reasons for going ahead far outweigh the excuses for not going ahead with this much needed improvement.

Of course you are right, 64 bit would help people like yourself and others in same position a lot, though I have 32 bit at the moment obviously down the road 64 bit is the way to go.

Who knows maybe because PG has stopped the mid year upgrades they are busy burning the midnight oil creating 64 bit band in a box.

I can see the header on the website now Band in a box 2015 now totally 64 bit.

Who knows,

Anyone clever enough to get one of the beta testers to let something slip.

hey Rharv ....working on any 64 bit applications these days?

smile

As much as I, too, want a 64 bit BIAB my most fervent wish is for a more stable BIAB at any pit depth. Would creating a 64 bit version introduce new stability issues?

Other than that, I can't wait to spend my money as I do every year (or half year). I love every new version.

You guys are working your selves into a frenzy with all this wild speculation. You're setting yourselves up for a big letdown. Anyway, the guy at the end of the told me no 64bit.

BIAB 2015 will have 50 new features, like it always does, so just sit back, wait and enjoy when it comes out. crazy

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
