solidrock,

The UT's I've been creating..final "product" is stereo.

I do setup with 95% of them very dry, or minimal FX.
Also set the pans to mid...64 using F2 in RB.
Some of the VSTi's FX directly enhances the instrument sounds,
hence do set minimal FX in the VSTi itself.

My final wav template is completed in RB.

Most excellent question..... Who'da thunk....

The guitar track I checked out, could not hear any change
with it soloed...left or right.

Piano track is ??? there is a definite difference in the left-right pan.

BUT this could simply be volume difference when made.

I only spent about 20 minutes checking this out.

A good answer would be to open any of the UT folders and play the SGU file.
Using your headphones to monitor playback.
Of course this only tell you that the UT itself is stereo or not.

Does not test use within BIAB with a style.

If you open your UT.SGU in BB then generate the same UT in another track, then solo Audio and then other track and listen as you can't SEE in BB, even the Audio Edit window the track shows as MONO.
In RB you can SEE open the UT.SGU in RB then Generate the same UT on the next track down. I have default track type set to STEREO but it still generates MONO.

solidrock,

Maybe not goin down same road..
First time ever...Using SGU in RB, but just loaded one of the latest UT.
The Guitar Mute Movin UT.sgu

Did this by loading the .sgu into RB and this set of wav tracks came up.
The top one is the Guitar mute and note the stereo track...top one.
It loaded as is, its the pre-rendered wav along with rest of the PG modified template
I use.

RB Screen Display after UT.sgu load

After the fact put this together.

GtrMuteFavored here

Did not quite follow you, so went this route.

Thanks Frank, all you need to do now is right click on a blank audio track like Track 14 then Select "Select and Generate UserTrack" > Guitar Mute Movin

solidrock,

Another test.

I just loaded the GtrMuteMovin Demo song into BIAB.
Muted everything but UT track.
Did a render to Wav.
Then loaded results into RB as wav.
RB told me it was a stereo wav and could I load that way.
Did so and had stereo displayed on track 1 in RB.
I can note(no pun intended) that there is bit different display,
but think that is due to pan offset.

Solidrock,

I've been able to duplicate stereo UserTracks importing as mono Usertracks in RealBand.

I created a UserTracks with differing midi guitar parts in the left and right channels, created a test song in RealBand then imported the UserTracks on channel 4 and the raw audio file on channel 5. Channel 4 display waveform and audio output is mixed mono. Channel 5 output is stereo.

++HERE++ is the screenshot.

++HERE++ is the RealBand SEQ file.

++HERE++ is the raw audio file.

Thanks Jim, I'm getting a bit lost here just been doing a lot of other things sorry.
All I'm trying to work out is why won't UTs that are made in Stereo when you Generate UT XXXX that is a Stereo wav file, why it Generates as a Mono Track.

Sorry, just had a listen lol yes I see yours Generated as Mono also thanks Jim.
Edit: They were out of alignment the track and the track numbers when I first loaded it, as RB does sometimes.

Solidrock,

I started to align the tracks but did not want to muddy the water anymore than it already is so I left the UserTracks and raw audio file as RealBand loaded them.

Solidrock,

Are you going to report to PG Music as bug?

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
