Hello everyone, A completely different style and hardly any vocals this time. 2015 Initially we wanted to do this song with vocals and lyrics (as usual), but we found it more appropriate to add just a little humming and let the music speak for itself. The song is aimed at the coming of 2015. This year has been very productive for us musically (thanks to BiaB we created a total of 34 songs!). We wish both forum members and PGMusic staff all the best and a very musical 2015! Style is _DANCEP+.STY (ModernDancePop Multistyle[120RS]) 1738:Bass, Synth ModernDancePopSync Ev 120 1744:Synth, Rhythm ModernDancePopRaveDrops Ev 120 1933:Synth, Rhythm, EuroDance StackedHits Ev16 120 1402:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Soul70sWarmSync Ev16 100 1765:Guitar, High-Strung Acoustic, Fingerpicking Pop16ths Ev16 085 1835:Guitar, Electric, Soloist PopModernGrooveGritty Ev16 075 ModernDancePop^01-a:Bass, HiHat , b:Claps, Bass This time Anne-Marie would like to add a little bonus. A French Medieval New Year's wish. The director of Anne-Marie's Vocal Group arranged this song. It's all her vocals! Bon Jour Bon Mois Bon jour, bon mois, bon an et bonne estraine (Good day, good month, good year and good (New Year's) gifts) Vous doinst celuy qui tout tient en demaine, (Given by Him who holds the future,)Richesse, honnour, sainté, joyé sans fin, (Riches, honour, health, endless joy)Bonne fame, belle dame, bon vin (Good fame, a beautiful lady, good wine,)Pour maintenir la créature saine (To keep the creature in health)
Regards, Rob and Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie, your BONUS is stunning! The video is interesting and your voices wonderful. Very enjoyable in a medevial sort of way.
Richard, I don't know who came up with the idea of humming versus lyrics but the idea works well with 2015.
I've enjoyed your music and videos very much. Thank you for sharing.

very artsy... Both music and the video!
Both were interesting the whole time, very cohesive and it just plain sounded GOOD!
The video kinda made me want to smoke marijuana though.. not sure why... ;-)
disclaimer for the DEA bots: but that's ILLEGAL here, so I would NEVER do that!

re 2015 Well that was different! Took me back to the moire patterns from the '70's dances, Maan!
34 songs in one year WOW! That is productivity!!
re Bon jour Bon Moi That was beautiful, what a bonus. Your voices were astounding.
All the best, both, for the New Year!

I missed Anne-Marie's Bonus the first time through... (I'm not very observant in my old age!)
Wow, that was WONDERFUL! This is actually similar to some projects on my bucket list, so it resonated with me immediately!
The very fact that you are in a vocal group that is organized enough to have a director explains a lot of what we've heard over the past year! Speaking of the past year, did you set out to make so many songs in 2014? Was it the result of a new year's resolution? Or did it just work out that way? I ask because I have another thread on a different forum about the power of using new years resolutions to plan one's activity, and if you achieved this much musical productivity by planning in advance and scheduling your time, that would be powerful evidence of the point being made in that thread.
Back to the song: You have a very adaptable vocal range, Anne-Marie... all of the parts you sang sounded convincing. I suppose your director knows your range well enough to arrange the song without any parts outside your comfort zone.
I tried to count the number of parts, but kept getting lost, so I'll have to ask: How many unique tracks did you create? How many tracks did you record per unique part? (ie. were any of the parts repeated with multiple instances?)
Very very nice. If you can offer any hints to others on the forum who might try a choral project sometime, I'm sure your observations would be appreciated.
I look forward to hearing what your amazing team comes up with in 2015!

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie,
what a nice double post as an outro of 2014. The instrumental is perfect in its genre. Humming is a good alternative. And that bonus track! Anne-Marie has a great voice range and sings beautifully. The videos contribute a lot to the mood of the songs. Have a Happy New Year.

Wow!!!
What a creative and cool way to transition to the New Year.
You guys have ended 2014 with two more quality productions (audio and video wise) that showcase your abilities and the power of BiAB. It's been all said regarding the humming alternative and AM's vocals. This was a very enjoyable break during our rainy day. Thanks for the joy!

2015 was very creative and artistic, loved it.
Anne-Marie was simply fantastic in the bonus! What a voice! That was some of the best a cappella singing I have ever heard.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hi Pat, First of all... thanks for your (two) nice comments. Let me first tell you how we came to write so many songs. We had no intention to do so at the beginning of the year, but once we started working with Biab we couldn't stop. We did most songs we together, sometimes Rob came up with a Biab file he had created, sometimes I did. Rob wanted to do some of his earlier work again with Biab and we also did some songs on our own. But we always ended up making the final version together, even if we didn't sing in a song. Then about my "classical project": The vocal group I sing in (I started it myself some 11 years ago) sings popmusic, all covers for which Rens, our director (has been all those years) writes his own arrangements. As he has studied music at university he said he would like to do some classical pieces with us (12 female singers). So... now we sing Dido's Lament (Purcell) and some weeks ago Rens came up with an arrangement of Bon Jour Bon Mois, which was written for just one voice/vocal. His arrangement is for soprano, mezzo soprano and alto. Being an alto/tenor myself, I considered it a challenge to sing all three parts myself. Nothing could be repeated, each part is different, neither is there any chorus or something, so... no possibility to "copy and paste". The soprano part was a matter of struggling with my own limitations/restrictions. There were several parts I had to do over and over again to get them the way they should be done. But.... never say die, so finally it was all there. I didn't tell Rens until my "project" was ready. He's very critical, so when he started telling me, what he would like to be changed/adapted, it meant that it was basically OK. First of all he wanted me to sing all three parts AGAIN ! I was not allowed to double the tracks and move them a bit. So... I started all over, again struggling with the soprano part. After that Rens advised me about the effects, because he had a certain sound in mind. In the end he said "OK, better this way" which is an enormous compliment. Mostly when he thinks we sing very well, he just says, "hm... hm... OK". Rob helped me with the effects and likes the result so much, that he's going to ask Rens if there is some medieval music we could sing together. They have met several times and next week Rens is going to accompany us as our "roadie" when we have a gig and have to sing for 1 1/2 hours! Well... I hope I have answered all your questions. Until we meet next year! Anne-Marie

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
