Hi All

So Long MIss Fickle on SoundCloud

So Long Miss Fickle on Youtube

I should have named this one “Therapy” but that may have been a bit esoteric.

Real Tracks are:

MIDI SuperTracks in style: 2059:Strings, Rhythm CelticWaltz Ev 100

Feel free to throw some mud. I’m in the mood for a fight. grin grin grin

When your fruit juice is frozen
and your coffee's all gone
When your house turns to rubble
and the light wont turn on
When your pipes have all broken
And your hopes washed away
Don't think that you can come crawling
to me

So long Miss Fickle, Mrs Yo-Yo
You tell me you're happy
You come and you go
You're hot then you're cold
You're to and you're fro
Don't think that you can come crawling
to me

When your favourite pink lipstick
Falls through the floor
And all of your colours
Go right out the door
When your cafe has closed
and your tap has run dry
Don't think that you can come crawling
to me

There's nothing to do here no need to regret
Resentment wont serve me in the space that it gets
My stories not over you'll hear of me yet
And one day you'll want to come crawling
to me

Enjoyed the listen.

Nice work.... enjoyed this a lot. You've got a really cool "folk music" vibe going on in your music....

I grew up listening to a lot of folk music...hanging out with the long haired gentle folk of the 60's.

Joanne,

Nice. A very good write - your best, so far, I think.

Nice instrumentation and mix. The strings might come up just a little. I missed them in the video version, but heard them in the Soundcloud version.

Enjoyed!

Hi Joanne,

I'm not going to throw mud, going to throw flowers smile

Such hard words, on such a gentle melody line and sung with such a beatiful voice...
It makes the song very intens.

Love and loss are the driving force of 90% of our songs I guess. Strong feelings, strong expression. Your voice, mix and production are excellent as usual and, in the short time I've been on this forum, this is definitely your best song!

Nice going, Jo!

Fred

Hi Bob. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it.

Charlie – Thanks. I appreciate the listen. Yeah. Those emotions..

Herb – I appreciate the “folk music” reference. Before I purchased BIAB and joined this forum I had no idea what type of a singer/artist I was. I thought I was “country”. Then I thought I was “pop”. Shows how much I knew about it! Nice to have direction now. Thank you BIAB!

Hi Guenter - Thanks. Yes! It definitely helped.

Hi Floyd – Thanks for the tip on the strings. I use Dimension Pro and now found out that Real Band doesn’t save the plugin setting if you save your work, go out and go back in! Oh well another “funny” with Real Band. I have changed the Soundcloud version but left the video as it is. Thank you for that. I know how you feel about these sorts of angry songs so I appreciate your kind comments.

Fred – I love the flowers!! And thank you for the compliments. I know, the harsh words on top of a pretty tune and pretty backing. The truth is that I don’t do harsh and angry very well.

Joanne,

I liked the youtube version better. I didn't think the strings added anything. I wouldn't say it's your best write but it's solid lyrically for a venting song and I enjoyed the listen. Great vocal and very nice production.

I'm editing this to add that you have certainly grown and continue to blossom as both a performer and a songwriter and we are all very proud of you. I know I am.

Punchy, are we? wink

Good song, well sung.

I think you could have dropped the strings on that very last chord.

And there are some parts I would have timed differently, but they give personality to the song.

Nope, no fight here.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Joanne,

I enjoyed the listen. Your writing, arranging, singing and mixing sparkle with musical confidence. To my ears, this song is a testimony as to how far you have travelled along the singer/songwriter road. Excellent work!

Regards,
Noel

Sorry for the delayed response. Am travelling

Hi Bud and Janice – Thanks. I think the coffee house folk style is starting to suit me.

Greg – Thank you for not throwing mud and for the nice words.

Josie – Thank you. I am glad you edited to add that. It really means so much to me to hear that you think that I keep improving and I suppose the way to do that is to keep at it.

Lawrence – So nice to hear from you. Glad you enjoyed it.

David – You made me laugh out loud. Thank you! I guess the jury is still out on the strings.

Noel – Thank you. I am really chuffed (do you guys know that expression? It means pleased in South African) that you think I am growing in my confidence as a songwriter. I am so enjoying the journey. Thank you BIAB and thank you BIAB forum.

Trevor – The harmonies are coming along with practice. Thank you.

Tommy – That is high praise from you. Thanks

Josie

I have been privileged to watch, in relative silence, and see your development as songwriter and performer.

However, those attributes are far and away eclipsed by your eagerness and willingness to share your knowledge with others who may be further behind you in the infamous learning curve. You are notably among the first to jump in with excellent help.

To be considered among your friends is an honor that is very dear to my heart.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
