I am trying to include some supermidi tracks in my own styles using style builder.
I love the tracks and can get them into the style, but can find no way of controlling their volume, other than using the mixer. I would like to be able to balance the piano, for instance with all the other instruments within the style, but the supermidi tracks don't seem to cooperate.
I tried changing the pattern velocity but as expected it did nothing (since I would expect that the super midi doesn't use the pattern) Then I went into MISC and MORE to find the box to be able to change the 'db' It says that about 6db being equivalent to 35.. Again whatever I put in the box, from-minus 127 to plus 127, didn't seem to change the track volume at all
I am also having trouble with the real drums, as again, I can find no adjustment, other than the mixer.
I am using BIAB 2013.
Thanks

If the track is on the Melody / Soloist track (or what used to be the melody/soloist Track), you could insert a control change event into the MIDI data to set your volume:
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
I would like to use the combo feature of the mixer to set default sound levels for each track. So many of my songs have different volume settings that it became very tedious to keep changing volumes with each song. The approach I took was to create my own styles, based on existing BIAB styles, importing instruments from other styles as appropriate, and then to balance the volumes of each track / instrument voice, so that each song has a sound that I was satisfied with. The mixer combo setting then levelled that sound for playing.
The problem seems to exist only with the supermidi tracks as they do not seem to be manageable within the style.
I did find that, in the MISC window of StyleMaker, there is an option to set 'volumes' for each track. It defaults to 90, but by checking a box, you can independently change each track. However, once you do this, the combo option on the mixer is disabled.
This is my first foray into the StyleMaker, and while it seems to hold a lot of promise there are some strange anomalies. Volume control is one problem, but I found out from PGSupport that I cannot even use to Large memo box to document the style.
It's very frustrating, and as many have found the documentation, both video and written, is of little help.
While I appreciate the suggestions you have made, the answer seems to be "You can't do that in BIAB"

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
