Life's been a bit fraught recently so this week I wrote a song, probably the quickest song from idea to finish, about 9 hours!! Maybe some of you can relate to the words LOL

Old man boogie

Gotta be careful when I cough, laugh or sneeze
and everything I do now is killing me
I'm up half the night and fall asleep in the day
and all these damned aches just wont go away
I'm falling apart and its plain to see
I got the old man boogie and its bugging me

Take tablets in the morning, lunchtime and at night
I can hardly breath cos my trousers are too tight
My parting's got wider,so much wider every day
my 6 packs gone for ever cos there's fat now in the way
I'm falling apart and its plain to see
I got the old man boogie and its bugging me

solo

it's certainly true it only hurts when you laugh
it's a major operation just to get me out the bath
I look in the mirror , can't believe that is me
I'm falling apart and its plain to see
I got the old man boogie and its bugging me

This is hilarious, Alyn!

...though a little too close to home.

Great choice for your band. Well mixed.

(I'm still laughing!)

Any significance to the fact that it's over a lot quicker than most songs? HA!

Well done. Enjoyed.

Hi Alyn.

Well, yes!

Another classic "Alyn" track.

Makes you laugh, then makes you think, then makes you despair, then makes you laugh again, only louder.

Many thanks Alyn, for brightening up my Monday.

Hi Alyn,

what great lyrics! I'm too vain to admit that I can relate to it.
Nice accompaniment. Astounding that the Waltz guitar works with it, but it does fine.
A very enjoyable listen.

You nailed it this time Alyn. All of the right elements are there and it all fits together nice. Good lyrics. Enjoyed the laughter and the song.

HAHAHA! Leave it to ROG to perfectly define the appeal of Alyn's song writing niche!

Alyn, I can't decide whether to love this song because it makes me laugh, or hate this song because it reminds me that I'm getting older...

ah, what the heck.. I like it! Good job, and keep 'em coming!

Dang, what a day to listen to this!
I'm one of the older (maybe oldest)
pharts around this board and today
my wife saw me fly about 15 feet through
the air on a spectacular (visually) mountain
bike crash. So I hobble in, clean up, and
sit back to listen to some forum music
and I hear this!!

I don't have the fat but I have all the
aches and pains. Heck, I hurt in places
I used to not know I even had.

Pardon the ramble but your song was
so funny and so timely that I can't
shut up....but I will.

The song is creative, funny, well developed,
well delivered and the mix sounds great.
Back for another and some more laughter.

Thanks for this!!

Man Alyn, I laughed all the way through this one. Actually it hits so close to home it hurts. I guess at this point we just can't take ourselves so seriously. Thanks for the smiles. Tom

Hi Alyn,

a fun song, and everything is rhyming too, haha
easier said than done, I kind of let go of rhyming...
(Laziness probably blush)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
