I'm running Windows 7 64bit and have BIAB 2015 Audiophile Edition. I installed Jbridge and still can't use my Waves 64bit plugins. I have Waves Diamond 9.3 VST 64 bit plugins. When I point BIAB to the plugin I get the same message I did before I installed Jbridge. It's saying that it's not a valid plugin and you can only use 32 bit plugins unless you have Jbridge.

Derryl -

Are you running the proper version of jBridge. Make sure you are running the 1.71b (beta) version. You can find it here --> jBridge 1.71b

Just enter your registered email address on that page and they will send you that version.

By the way, looks like we are neighbors connected by the three mile bridge. I'm over in Pensacola.

Hey guys, just an update. John was kind enough to get of skype with me and we got Jbridge working with my 64bit version of Kontact5 but no luck with Waves Diamond v9.3. What I did was uninstalled Jbridge and reinstalled basically. I think the first time I installed I don't think I used the correct password...maybe.

Anybody using Waves 64 bit with BIAB 2015 out there???
A long time ago I had Waves v5.0 32bit and it worked with the BIAB version I had at the time. Maybe BIAB 2012? Not sure.

Hi Popboy, I appreciate your help but could you give me some directions on how to use this? I read the GIF that came with the files but it wasn't clear to me what exactly to do. Thanks

Popboy, I just found these instructions and followed them
1 - Download Shell2vst.exe from here http://www.xlutop.co...p/shell2vst.zip
2 - Copy Shell2vst.exe to C:\Program Files\Waves\Waveshells
3 - Drag and drop each "WaveShell-VST x.x.x.dll" onto the shell2vst.exe (But not WaveShell-Direct X...dll or the WaveShell-Direct X...dll) If prompted to overwrite, choose "no"
4 - A new "Waves" folder will be created that contains all the waves plugins as individual .dll fils
5 - Copy the newly created "Waves" folder into your shared Vstplugins folder (Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins)
6 - Remove the WaveShells from your shared Vstplugins folder

Still not working...

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! What I had to do is just reinstall Jbridge after I followed the shell2VST instructions.

Derryl, using jbridge, can you use more RAM's worth of Kontakt libraries, than when running 32 bit Kontakt?

Nope, not with 32-bit Kontakt. You can use more RAM using the 64-bit Kontakt in a 32-bit host using jBridge, but 32-bit Kontakt has the same limitations as any other 32-bit application.

jBridge doesn't make a 32-bit VST(i) into a 64-bit VST(i) (and likewise, doesn't turn a 64-bit into a 32-bit), it only makes it available for use to the specific host. For example, running the jbridger utility (which you don't need to with BIAB), you can run 32-bit Kontakt in a 64-bit DAW, or you can run 64-bit Kontakt in a 32-bit DAW. If you are running the 32-bit Kontakt in a 64-bit DAW, the Kontakt VSTi will only be able to address approximately 3.3GB of RAM at the most (the limitation of 32-bit).

And if you are running a 32-bit operating system, you're not going to be able to run 64-bit anything (it won't even install). You have to be running a 64-bit operating system to be able to work with 64-bit plugins. And on a 32-bit operating system, you won't have any more than 3.3 GB RAM available anyway.

I have seen posts about jbridge and incompatibility with Waves stuff on Cubase forum. Don't own it myself.

Derryl was able to get it to work with WAVES, using the Shell2VST utility and then re-installing jBridge. I think the Shell2VST was the missing element, as WAVES apparently did not present itself as a standard VST file.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
