I just want to say, this is EXACTLY the reason I wanted to post this to this forum. Right now, I don't belong to any other forum. I stepped away from them years ago.

This forum, however, I found a lot of insightful people at.

There were some truly great points made in this discussion. To me, that is so refreshing to see! It's not drama. It's just intelligent conversation.

Thank you all for what you had to say. I gained some perspective with this post.

Well said everyone!

And finally from a UK perspective, I doubt if the song would raise an eyebrow here, even if it was misinterpreted as being pro gay.
However, if there was the slightest chance of misinterpretation of it being racist, fan and brown stuff comes to mind. I say no more.

from Floyd Jane:
1. The writers (Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey) are ALL intelligent, successful writers who write intelligent, successful songs. They KNEW the lyric was suggestive.

2. Little Big Town KNEW the lyric was suggestive when they decided to record the song.

3. The record company KNEW the lyric was suggestive and would cause controversy (read "talk" or "press"). They may be idiots, but they aren't stupid.

This is calculated every step of the way.

That was my first thought too. These gals have been writing a long long time together - totally calculated every step of the way. More controversy = more free publicity.

I agree the melody is really close to Bonnie Tyler's Nothing But A Heartache.

It's an alright song, personally I like Miranda Lambert's song, More Like Her about a 1000 times better because Miranda's song packs much more of an emotional wallop for me anyway.

The way I see it as a right wing conservative patriotic extremist is as follows...

The song in question isn't about a girl on girl relationship.... you really have to stretch to think that it is.

I don't care if the writer or the singer is male or female, whether they are straight, gay, bi, transgendered, or from Mars....

Can they sing and write? That's all that matters.

One of my favorite new writers is Brandy Cooper who is a lesbian if I understand correctly.

http://www.cmt.com/artists/brandy-clark/ the girl can sing and write so that's what matters.

Herb,

I hadn't heard of Brandy Clark before but I listened to the songs on the link and liked all of them.

Thanks for the heads up.

You do understand correctly. She identifies as a lesbian in this interview.

OK, so it went better than I would have thought. I am afraid we have run the rabble rousers out of the forum over the years. So we are left with just a bunch of nice guys and gals.

My feelings on this, well I can't get too offended as I am still upset by the use of the "F" word in a country ballad from an earlier thread. I can only handle one distraction to the music at a time.

Yeah... I sat right there...looked at her name on the screen and still got it wrong....

BTW: she writes with several other folks who are either gay or lesbians from the Nashville area and scene.....

Like I said.... It's all about the song for me. What you do in your spare time ...I could care less.

Hehe. I sure hope you're kidding Dan because using the "f" word in today's society is pretty much equivalent to saying "dang" 40 years ago........., except "dang" wasn't as versatile.

You can look up George Carlin's numerous skits on the versatility of the "f" word if you so desire.

Girl crush

feelings of admiration and adoration which a girl has for another girl, without wanting to shag said girl. a nonsexual attraction, usually based on veneration at some level.

related to boy crush
I have a girl crush on a girl from a band. she can sing, she's GORGEOUS, she's doing an awesome degree and she's intelligent. I want to BE her. unquote

The lyrics are quite clear: she's jealous of her ex's new girlfriend.
And even if it were about lesbian love: is it really that important?
Here in Holland we have lesbian/gay ministers, politicians, mayors, musicians.... whistle.

Was the video made afterwards?
Definitely some artsy ideas in it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
