Doubtful if they'd develop this Rich. If you have the money, Limex V3 desktop have fabulous bagpipe, from a solo piper to a full band. Northumbrian pipes, small pipes, Highland pipes etc...
Drop me a pm if you're interested and I'll give you the gen. I'm not an agent by the way just a delighted user

Furry, just curious, why do you feel doubtful they would develop this?

Sounds like a good suggestion to me. I can think of any number of songs that would go well with bagpipes. Obviously, bagpipes tend to be melody instruments, but I would think you could come up with some neat stuff even as a chord based soloist instrument to enhance the arrangement, especially for new original songs where the melody isn't known yet anyway.

My thoughts are the pipes would be very tempremental when it comes to speed changes. The part where the melody comes from is the chanter, and the bass comes from the drones. You CAN'T have the pipes without the drones. My guess is they would take a hell of a lot of development. With the pipes most people either love or hate them. Personally I don't like a solo piper. I DO LOVE hearing pipes with a nice backing. I'll make up a track using pipes from the V3 expander and biab in the near future

But Graham, the PGMusic folks are pretty smart about stuff like this. I bet they could figure it out (should they choose to).

Thanks Graham. The machine looks fabulous.
I would never spend thousands on it though.
Am sure our experts will come up with something.
Cheers.

Just trying to work out a way now for a some Bagpipe UserTracks, you can generate the Drone as a separate track and Notes as another allowing the note change but same drone..

Here's some samples from actual Highland Pipes.

Pipers_Notes.mp3

Pipers_Drone.mp3

Pipers_Mix.mp3

Though I don't think the 3/4 is working yet in UserTracks.

Ya gotta love em', Bon Scott played em' in It's A Long Way to The Top.

Ok I just made a small prototype test.
So I made the Drone as a Drum so it will be the same "A" all thru.
Drum Endings are not working correctly yet in BB/RB so you might not get a fade out.
They are still in mono till the bug gets fixed.
The Chanter track is in Key A, the midi was scaled to fit the chords of the 30min Pop UserTrack Template A.
It is just a solo Highland Bagpipe.
UserTracks still get stretched a bit more than they need to, they need more options.

It gives a rough idea that something can be done with a bit more work.

Had no idea this would be so complicated.
Great appreciation to people for looking at the idea.
Especially to SolidRock and Seeker. Cheers.

Here's a link to a set I recorded using the V3 expander from Limex. Totally fooled quite a few players into thinking I had a real piper

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
