Guenter,

I seem to say the same thing every time you do one of these...

I listened to several of the other remixes - and found them almost unlistenable. All that seemed to matter to them was THEIR BEAT. The singer meant nothing - and the words seem to mean even less.

Your remix is immediately interesting. And the singer (and song/lyric) are immediately brought to the forefront. And you still manage to have a good - and very interesting - beat going on (nice job of making the salsa drums carry that beat!).

You made the singer shine!

The added strings and brass are nicely done. You are talented in so many ways! Your bass has punch.

Great job. A truly enjoyable listen...

floyd

edit - I did go back and listen to several others - there are a couple of nice ones (FLVRTOFFICIAL's is nice - and Eliot's is interesting)... still not close to yours, though...

Exactly. Excellent work and as Floyd said, your mix shined against the others I listened to. Good luck with the contest.

Excellent work Guenter.

You certainly have a way of giving great dynamics to the mix. This doesn't come easy, I know.

I really liked the flute, sits perfectly in the song, and the brass works so well too. A lot of work, and a great result.

Good luck!

Guenter, You are definitely in the expert category with these remixes. Nice job on the strings and brass. The flute is well played. You really managed to get a lot in there while still letting the singer carry it. Another fantastic job. Tom

Hi Floyd,

thanks for your generous review.
"You made the singer shine!"
That's why I do these remixes: to have good voices. And I don't want to hide them behind the music.

Awesome. Guenter, we know you are a pillar of
this community and that you receive a ton of
accolades for these remixes. It's hard to add
to what has been said. BUT like floyd mentioned
the attempts done by others are virtually unlistenable
compared to what you have done. Janice and I
are again simply amazed by what you have
accomplished. I've said it before but it's hard
to fathom the amount of work that must go into
these remixes. And, of course, that work must
be driven by a very high level of musical talent.

GREAT listen.

J&B

PS Love that rasp (I think that's what it is) in
the percussion.

Hi, Guenter.

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, so I'll just say, "I liked it!". smile

Thanks for the music,
Dan

Floyd has hit it right on the head with his comment here. I completely agree. I am busy listening to some of the other mixes right now and Floyd is right. They are unlistenable. Definitely not my style of music but your remix makes the vocal stand out.

Super job! With these remixes you're making me like a vocal style that I didn't give much credence to before. Where they seemed too "sugary", you have highlighted the passion.

And I love that percussion that is keeping time through the song like a clock ticking!

I listened to the original (vocal) and I could not imagine that anyone could do anything to make this appealing to me BUT YOU DID!! I love what you've done to this. I can't imagine anyone could do it better. Killer!! Take care. Greg

Hi Guenter,

This is an exceptionally well put together remix.

You have a knack for creating the perfect soundscape to showcase a vocalist's talent. If I were the singer of this mix, I'd be like that fabled cow and jumping excitedly over the moon when I heard it. I bet those who created this song could never have imagined it sounding so brilliant.

In a word ... fantastic!

All the best,
Noel

This is a sample of a ticking clock.
You are the first to notice that.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
