Anyone else get this - select 363 and when it loads up it immediately defaults in the mixer window as 369? Why? Does 363 actually exist and is it different to 369? I have latest B2015 + all updates etc. All help always appreciated. Ian

That sounds like it is substituting what it (the programs) thinks is best for your song tempo. There is an Option that tells the program you want it to substitute for the tempo.
Hi Ian, Floyd's right on the money I'd say. If substitution is in use, there will be a tilde character (~) at the start of the style name. Do you have that? Best Trev

Hi Floyd and Trev The tempo is 77. I get a DOUBLE tilde (~~) for the 369 when I ask for 363 and interstingly (for me anyway lol ) it says 369 but keeps the 363 title of 065. Odd!
Doubly odd is that you will see 1852 just above it - an RT with a tempo of 120 that I am running at 77. Its a bit "gargly" due to slow speed but it gives me the odd sound I wanted there. So, if it will accept a 120 running at 77, why doesnt it accept my speed of 77 for 363 and 369, when the two tempos are quite close anyway? The solution of course was to uncheck the box in Trevs illustration and now I can gert either. Dumb thing is - NEITHER gives me the pedal steel backing that I was looking for anyway, even with "simpler" tagged. Ah Well! Ian

Regarding the 1852 - the likely explanation is that there is no obvious substitution for it at your tempo (or any tempo, likely) - in which case, you will get what you picked.
The pedal steel, more than any other RT (in my experience) only perform well at very close to their designated tempo. For example... 105 bpm is a real problem because the steel RTs are either 85 or 120 and "stretched" to 105 have obvious artifacts - I seem to run across that all the time (I must like 105)
But... hey... try to find someone to play steel for you for free... BIAB is great!
My BB backing track also needed a bespoke Piano intro and fills and I got one my Club friends to do this. But in the UK, a pedal steel player is as rare as hens teeth!! I've decided to manage without it!

++ The Steel Guitar Forum ++ has numerous pedal steel guitar players that use Band-in-a-Box. Some of those forum members provide custom steel guitar audio tracks.

floyd,
I'm with you. 105 bpm, or thereabouts, is a great tempo. Have you put any requests in the Realtracks wishlist forum regarding this? If not, it might be worthwhile. The couple of times I've made RTs requests, they've eventuated! Now that might be just luck but maybe it wasn't!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
