Wish there was a possibility to write/edit midi in a partitura style., to see all notes written in midi at the same time, as in a multi score, but editable.

First I had to look up the word partitura, did not know it.

My results.

Now the good part.
First there is the Notation icon down about 3 inches top left the Note.
There are 3 basic options with lots of technicalities there.

Second 2 icons over from Notation icon is the Piano Roll.
This is tool/s to create/edit MIDI.

Within both of these options are specific track select/modify abilities.

The style part modification within these two+ tools is beyond me.

My direction would be to select a style, listen to its demo, then
decide if you want to use that style.

Start over, NEW the screen, then with only the style selected.
You can now edit notes/and/or Piano roll for any track within BIAB.

Hope this opens some doors needed.

Thanks,

oh, sorry about that. Yes i ment a score., but with lines for all possible instruments, for example bass, chords and melody visible, and editable at the same page., not a single instrument for eatch page.

Picture example for the kind or partitur(a) i mean: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/a/a8/Rienzi_Partitur_04.jpg

that kind of score is also possible to se and do in BIAB, for printout., i can se and edit such part in my other score editing program, but was thinking that it would be easyer to do in BIAB, when using styles done i in BIAB.

So i ment lines for all the instruments on the same page, in ordinary musicial notation. The classical terms i belive it´s named partitur(a), when it´s possible to see all that have been written at the same time., but i ment for example melody, guitar, piano on the same page., sometimes also called partitur(a)., what i actually ment was on other hand the opportunity to see, and edit, all possible instruments that can be lined up on the same page., maybe it´s also called a Orchestra Partitura, not sure.

I will check and explore the things about notation in BIAB more, to see if some more doors opens for me.

Hello again,

ok, the classical term is more like: Orchestral Score - Orchestra Partitura.,but i think "Orchestra" actually means 8 instruments, or more., so what i actually mean is a "Band Score".,a "multi score, but also editable i same notation window.

A multitrack notation is possible to printout in biab., but what i was thinking about was editable, in multitrack notation possition also., to see the notation for multiple instruments when editing notation in a song.

As it is now in biab it´s possible to work with a single instruments notation score separately, but as i understand, without possiblity to see the other instruments notation at the same time., as it is in a editable mutitrack score i mean., in same or simular way that is possible to edit a single instrument notation in biab, via Views > Notation.

In BIAB, you can only edit one track at a time; and as you have discovered, you can display multiple tracks.

While it's possible multi-track editing could see its way into the program, I doubt it will happen any time soon, so I recommend using a dedicated notation application for your score.

There are many available at various price points:

MuseScore (free)
Noteworthy Composer
Presonus Notion
MakeMusic Finale (and the less expensive PrintMusic)
Avid Sibelius (and the less expensive Sibelius First)

and others.

All of the above support MIDI export, so you can export from the notation program and bring the MIDI into BIAB. Likewise, they support MIDI export, so you can also do the reverse - export from BIAB to MIDI and then import into your notation program.

Bringing multi-track MIDI into BIAB and separating out the parts is tricky, because other than the melody or soloist track, the other tracks are generally regenerated based on the style, not a static MIDI import. But doable, and was discussed in a recent thread.

I have all of the above (well, I don't have Sibelius First, but I do have Sibelius) and generally I use either Noteworthy Composer of Presonus Notion for my scores.

Thanks,

I have been thinking about this agian, and realize that this part is propably hard part to do for programmers. I use Sibelius also., but was thinking that it would benefit the workflow to do the first editing/writng in one program, instead of inport export between program.

However; i´m happy with biab like it is.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
