Not doing any great deal of harm, but for me anyways a bit of an eyesore at biab startup that split second yellow screen on chord area, obviously a throw back to the old GUI.

I don't get any split second yellow screen, is that a 'hint screen' you mention?
Does it have any text?
How big is it? Does it cover the entire chord display area before the chords show? If so, then that is just part of the software initialization processes.
If it looks more like a smaller hint, then these are my hint settings, if that helps:
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Thanks Trevor; I'm not at a computer and didn't want to guess wrong about the steps to see that.
Anyway, since this is the Wishlist, my suggestion would be to see what the yellow message said and deal with it, rather than eliminate it. Music lover, I don't see that yellow box on startup either. If you are correct and this is just some graphics anomaly from the earlier GUI, then it might help to know how fast your computer is.

Thanks for replies Guys, as I say it's no big deal and chord area goes to the default white after the yellow display for a split second, to prove that I'm not seeing ghosts captured it with print screen.
I know Trevor says it is just part of the software initialization processes. I wouldn't have thought so though as old GUI was this colour and for some reason I feel it isn't programmed out completely.
Probably nit picking here but would still like to get rid of it.
I have a quad core amd cpu with 4 gb ram computer five years old last February.

At biab startup it just shows that yellow chord area screen for probably less than a second before reverting to the correct default white chord area.
As I say not a big deal at all but often wondered whether its a throwback to the old GUI or maybe happens to others too but its only me that noticed it.

Personally I don't like messages that disappear whilst I reach for my coffee. I would like to see an ability to see/ pin messages, and have this as a settable option in a reworked preferences dialogue. Also remove the option from the help menu. De clutter. If each message was pinnable/ able to become invisible, the user could decide.
I tested it once more on a newly booted computer and the change of screen images is obvious. Once BIAB has been started before, the change of the input mask image is reduced to just a flicker.
I'm sure, an SSD helps a lot to obscure such behavior since loading time is greatly reduced and the processors do not have to wait that long.
Oh, never mind, I think I get it. You want an option for the message to freeze until you do something to clear it? That's a good idea. I think you should put that in its own thread, and I'll give it a +1.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
