I Saw You - This is the 2nd song I ever made, now finally being rearranged with real instruments, thanks to BBox. A mellow pop-rock ballad for your pleasure, with me on one of those 'triple-level' organs, popular in Europe in the mid 70's or so, if that rings any bells. I tried recording me playing both the upper and lower simultaneously for the sake of authenticity, hence the strange blend of the sounds. BBox' own organ only takes over during the solo and for the end chord, the rest is me.
The story behind the is a bit obscure: I had made my very first song and was oh so proud of what I was so sure was the start of a big thing, but then nothing happened...for six months! shocked
I was just about to write myself off as a lame 'one-hit-wonder', when I got an idea. I had been trying to pick up the chords to a song by ear and kept getting it wrong, so why not use those chords (wrong as they were) and see if I couldn't at least come up with a melody - And this is the result! cool
As for the song name, I thought lyrics would probably suit this one but only got as far as "I want to talk about the first time I saw you" for the first line before I got stuck smirk

Hi Eddie,

I really like that melody you've composed. It fits excellently against the chords. You have definitely managed to capture the electronic organ sound from the 70s. I have to say that sax you put in the mix a little later in the work was a great variation. Really, really nice.

Since listening to your song, I've been surfing around Youtube listening to some organ greats. Such a brilliant sounding instrument!

If it's any consolation I struggle heaps when it comes to writing lyrics, too. You've got a title, though. That's a start!

Thanks for posting your second song smile Is there a third in the works?

All the best,
Noel

Thanks for the encouragement there, but actually, I wouldn't mind if someone around here would give it a shot. This group has plenty of good lyricists & singers, neither of which being my stronger points (and that's quite an understatement, heh).

Oh, I've got a third & a fourth made already, and then some. It's not even the second of mine that I've shared on here either, this was simply the second song I ever created.
But sure, I'm pretty confident there'll be more of mine to come cool

Hi Eddie,

Your second song ey? We know you've been very busy creating usertracks grin
The organ is played quite well, the sound is quite familiar, lying between a Hammond and a Yamaha DX7 organ.
Quite refreshing.
As for the lyrics... (like your signature says) you obviously didn't finish what you couldn't start whistle

A very pleasant track Eddie!! I think the music is really cool structurally. Organ is very cool, and the sax fits in perfectly. Nice job! Take care. Greg

P.S. The link now takes you to a revised version I've just completed. Should be a better mix (hoping the choir that you all missed now actually sounds like one!), no notes/chords were altered.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
