Guenter, Another nice job by the remixmaster. The guitar and kick drum work really well. Good job. Tom

Guenter,

I listened to all the others before listening to yours - knowing that I was saving the best for last...that has become a given.

Most of the others were predictable. Hard to tell one from the next. The Ada French one had some interesting stuff going on, but got a bit over-done after a while. Percept's was nice - good opening, but got a little repetitive by the end...

Your mix is inspired - as expected. Using the Latin drums yet keeping the EDM rhythm worked nicely. The lead guitar raises your work so far above the rest it's not even a competition... weaved in so seamlessly!! Nice synth lead, too.

And, as always, you put the vocal on the perfect pedestal.

You should win this one, too... but more importantly, you should be getting calls to do this day-in-and-day-out. You belong at the helm.

Hi Guenter,

I still don't know what to say!

About a week ago, I listened to "Guilty", typed out an opening sentence, thought "Nope. Said that so many times before that it must be boring to Guenter!" Then I deleted the sentence. This happened about half a dozen times. So I didn't write anything.

Today I popped into the thread again, hoping that inspiration would shine as brightly as floodlights. Nope. I'm still struggling with how to bring freshness to what I type.

As I'm sitting thinking about why I'm in the doldrums, I realise that your creations have been so many and so consistently incredible for so long that I have no unused words left in my vocabulary. I guess that that means that it's your fault entirely. You are so outstandingly good at what you do that you've exhausted my supply of language.

I think it's time to ask Google Translate for some assistance. I've got my fingers crossed that this makes sense to you...

  • Dieser Song ist unglaublich! Wenn es um Musik geht, sind Ihre Kreationen unvergleichliche auf diesem Forum. Du bist der Meister.

Also, in case you speak Japanese, and because Google Translate makes everything possible, here is another way of looking at what I've written above smile

  • この曲は素晴らしいです!それが音楽に来るとき、あなたの作品は、このフォーラムに比類のないです。あなたがマスターです。

"Guilty" was such a great listen.

All the best,
Noel

Hi Noel,

it's so nice of you that you are struggling for "freshness" in your words. But that's not necessary. I'm happy when you just like what I do.
Yes, your German makes sense to me and I thank you a lot for your praise.
I'm sorry I don't speak Japanese, but Google helps.
Please don't crucify yourself next time. I am modest.

Hi all,

the deadline was last Saturday. I was not among the six winners as the rules said: "All genres are allowed, but Drum & Bass, Broken Beat, Nu-Jazz, Downtempo, Chill, Soulful and Deep House are more likely to be selected."
But I got a mail from the record company:
"Big thanks for taking part in the competition. Brilliant work, it was a shame I had to limit it to 6 tracks for the remix package. Love your guitar work, if you're up for playing on one of our tracks in the future, we'll give you a shout when we've got something ready."
They don't know that PGMusic and Brent Mason did the job.
Thanks for that.

Good one günter, I nearly missed this one. The kick was a tad loud for me, but there again I'm old fashioned and I like subtle rhythms. grin

Nice. As J&B noted, perfect for the gym with that drive. I am glad Brent couldn't deliver. For me, The synth solo was a great addition to the mix.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
