Josie Sundance posted that talking songs weren't her favourite genre and I thought I gotta write a song with me singing so she'd like it. So into my lyrics box I dived. AH HAH!! one word on a piece of scrap was reciprocate. ~Hmm~ Yeh that sounds like a Jazzy type song, me clean shaven, slicked back hair in a good fitting suit, black and white shoes, clicking my fingers and smiling with a knowing nod to the ladies. But it went wrong, started OK tho' Brent didn't half get it right A chilled late evening music festival vibe Do it right I gotta a girl by the name of Louise ‘n she does everything she can to please me Hey don’t diss me with your hate I always reciprocate I do it right I gotta girl with the name of Mabel She does what she can and boy she’s able To light them bozzos and kick some A But don’t sweat it man I reciprocate I do it right gotta do it right I do it right I gotta girl by the name of Kate She don’t do much don’t stay out late I only mention her in a passing way ‘cos Kate rhymes with reciprocate but she does it right There ain't no trick in any ole book And there ain’t no rhyme without a hook If you do it right gotta do it right gotta do it right gotta do it right gotta do it right gotta do it right gotta do it right orl right gotta do it right RealTracks in song: 1769:Bass, Fretless Electric, JazzFunkMovin Ev16 130 RealTracks in song: ~~1637:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezyChords Ev16 075 RealTracks in song: 1285:Guitar, Electric, Soloist CountryWaltzBrent Sw 085 RealTracks in song: 786:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CrossoverChop Sw16 090 RealDrums in Song: JazzFunkMovin^1-a:SideStick, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat shakers in FL Studio DRUMLOOP216_HPHOP_90_X_SC5 from Ejay DRUMS FROM THE BIG ROOM ofsPROMO 01 BIAB Chord track and FM7 using Emu Proteus Synths guitars distorted with California sun distortion amp vst me on Rode NT2 via Line 6 UX2 enjoy Alyn

Only you Alyn would come up with a verse like that. Got a good chuckle out of that. Very cool song. Love the vibe and the production. You are a one in a million! Take care. Greg

What an original, when song started I didn't know what to expect, but really enjoyed it once you settled into your groove, all the different sounds, something totally different. I could imagine sitting in a little concert hall listening to you belt this out.
A great entertaining listen Alyn from start to finish, I love the way you use the delay in your vocals, is it one of those delay plugins that you can sync to the beat?
Gibson does it again. Musiclover

Greg My son's long term girlfriend is called Kate so use of her name to rhyme was almost a given thing, this was also the 1st verse I wrote. When I was struggling with the original idea the bass line with the Real drums was the catalyst to go funky-ish. I tried to solo myself but oh no it sounded dreadful but then Brent stepped up. The solo took ages trying to get a 3/4 to match 4/4 and then the cut and pasting...phew. But he did well!! I am trying to learn his licks myself now Thanks for commenting Greg, but I do wish sometimes I was more "main stream" but too late now. Alyn

Gibson does it again. Musiclover Thank you, I'd buy you a beer, or 6, if we met afterwards, ligging at the bar is it one of those delay plugins that you can sync to the beat? I used Classic Free VST and then recorded me changing the volume of the repeats using the read/write function in Cubase SX1. Yes SX1 I haven't upgraded for over 10years+, it does what I want and fingers crossed it keeps going, I have an image of the C drive tho' in case. I also adjusted the vol of the reverb, in the same manner, for the "do it right" bits. To record it I first got the timing right for the change of effect ie the vol/timing then adjusted the values later. Should work with any other delay plug-in tho'. I then sent the one track of my "singing" to a bus so's I could easily then change the vol for the eventual mix. So glad you enjoyed Alyn

Hi Alyn.
Just brilliant.
This track's got everything going for it. Terrific driving funky beat and a spot-on choice of realtracks. I love that fretless bass line - straight off the Graceland album!
All this and humour too. What more could anyone want?
ROG.

Hi Alyn,
the fun you had writing and performing this song electrifies the audience. You did a good job adapting the 3/4 lead. Very enjoyable listen.

Alyn,
I am beginning to anticipate your next submission - always so different and so original...
The combination of drum and bass is wonderful - well done! (you always seem to have such a good bass sound in your mixes). Sounds great loud - I hope you shared with the neighbors...
"‘cos Kate rhymes with reciprocate" - cracked me up with each listen - even when knew I was coming...
Cool lead.
Right.

Greg mentioned it first...but, man, how cool is that? Great job on the guitar track comping. Hearing a little Tom Petty in the vocal and in our book that is most excellent.
The mix sounds very good on our monitors. Heck, everything about it sounds good.
Yup, we enjoyed it and it now resides on the SC playlist for further attention!

Guenter Thanks Guenter, I almost gave up with the solo, especially as I regenerated, in BIAB, without distortion and had to imagine that! So glad you enjoyed the listen Alyn

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
