Hey Alyssa,
This is Scott from Vermont.... I just finished watching the 50 minute demo on BIAB 2015 for Mac. There are definitely some great new features added but I really want 6/8 time feature as I play mostly 6/8 time jazz tunes.... Is there anyway to talk with the software engineers and make a serious request and a possible timeline? Is this something that could be added for Next year? Just one simple feature such as having 6/8 time added would be all it would take for me to upgrade again..... I originally bought the new program for myself in March of 2014 I believe but 2014 was not yet released and soon after purchasing 2013 I upgraded to 2014 when it was available so upgrading to 2015 is not urgent for me but had the 6/8 feature been added I would of upgraded asap! It takes a lot more time to write a song using 3/4 and having to double everything to create 6/8..... Especially when you have a tune that might be 40 bars or even 64 bars..... Anyway, it would be great to have an idea if this is at all on the list for the engineering department.... If so, when would it be set for release? Thank you so much in advance for any info and effort that will be put forth in this request!
Thanks again, Scott

I agree (and other x/8 and odd x/4 time signatures as well). However, I doubt we'll see true 6/8 time until 8th note chord resolution is introduced (by definition 6/8 is 8th note chord resolution).
The problem with 3/4 time (or even swing 2/4 or 4/4 time) is that in 6/8, chords very often change on adjacent 8th notes. That's what forces folks into 3/4 time with double tempos.

Yes, 6/8 pleeease!
One of the reasons I bought biab was to set up music for some of my 6/8 songs. I am very disappointed that I can't do a proper job on those songs.
It would be kind to warn people before they buy biab that it can't do 6/8

Yes– please, please, PLEASE offer more and BETTER odd time signatures, especially those most used: 6/8, 5/4, 5/8, 7/4, and 7/8. Lack of alternate time signatures is a real blind spot of the program. Btw, it doesn't have to be some esoteric third world style, and simpler (less busy) is usually better. The few styles that exist are unusuable, sounding like a bad frenetic 'oompa' band or something (as opposed to more modern jazz/fusion, or even some rock that odd time signatures would be intended for); Maybe some simple loops would be in order? Check out the iOS app drumgenius if you need inspiration. Thanks–

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
