Hi guys, this is a tune inspired by a piece by Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, do not remember the title, but anyway, at certain times they play the melody at unison, just a few bars, that caught my ear, so I tried to recreate that, then this tune was born after quite a few tries Smoky Room Style is JWLZ_60.STY (Jazz Waltz at T=60 - Slow 3/4) PianoCustom Synth is Hi-Q 001 01 Piano, Acoustic, Grand SampleTank.tgs MelodyCustom Synth is Synth/Plugin Loaded SoloistCustom Synth is Synth/Plugin Loaded RealTracks in song: ~927:Bass, Acoustic, Jazz Waltz Sw 085 ('A' only) RealTracks in song: ~2322:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm JazzWaltzSlowKenny Sw 085 RealTracks in song: ~2322:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm JazzWaltzSlowKenny Sw 085 RealTracks in song: 2397:Sax, Tenor, Soloist JazzWaltzEric Sw 110 RealDrums in Song: JazzWaltzLewis^01-a:Brushes, Snare , b:Brushes, Busy Snare Enjoy Mike B.

Nice one, Mike. Enjoyable listen. Good mix. With the crowd noises it really sounds like a "live album".
You did not list any piano soloist RT... how was it done? - it's quite nice..

Hi Mike,
well done. Enjoyable listen. Liked the doubling. You used the Realcharts, didn't you?

Mike,
This is fabulous. I take it you're playing a wind controller on this but it's quite accurate and your putting down some intelligent stuff with it. So good to hear something like this on the Forum. When I saw Coltrane-Monk, I thought to myself, "WHAT? No, this can't be right." Well, it's right, sure enough. The right changes, the right ideas. Great, man.
More of this! More!

Thanks Floyd, Guenter and Dean for the listen, I consider all of you a referent in your individual talents as musicians, I really appreciate it. Floyd, the piano solo is a midi track, that's why there is not a listing as an RT; Guenter yes, good ear, I used the real charts, and Dean, no, no wind controller here, that was a sax RT, then used the real chart with a piano (Addictive Keys) patch. Since the nuances of both instruments are totally different, the use of a different instrument patch can produce very interesting results and most of the time very unpredictable. More to come

Mike, You did it again. A great composition and mix. Your understanding of these types of changes is very advanced. The stuff that you and Dean post continues to blow me away. Love listening to it, attempting to play anything like this would be impossible for me. Great track! Tom

Outstanding. I can picture Thelonious shifting around on his seat and doing those one finger key strikes.
Great!!!!

Mike
I had to listen to this because of the title as I was introduced to Thelonious Monk's music when I was 13 or 14 or so, but didn't understand it for many years.
great live feel and thanks for the explanation and your use of Real Charts.
excellent

Super sweeeeet!! I can imagine a rainy NY city late night with cars slowly driving down the street, and neon signs in the windows. The live vibe really took it over the top. Probably my favorite of your many, many fine posts!! Take care. Greg

Hi Mike,
Very smooth indeed. Because of the background ambience, it's incredibly easy to visualise this performance on stage. The mix sounded great on my system.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
