Hi there. Here's another one.

Started with THRASH1 style added country Brent guitar and ended up with a surf sound. Cheers.

Ghost in my Machine

Theres a ghost in my ma-chine don't know who it might have been
Making things go wrong in every-way
It haunts me night and day tells me what to say
Slinkin sly sad and mad and mean

Theres a ghost in my ma-chine dont know where it might have been
Wish bright flames would take it back to stay
Now theres hell to pay as I crash on lifes high-way
Driven by a fiend i've never seen

From the dark it comes to stalk it's prey A hungry thirsty gothic grey
Reeks of death and stark decay

Theres a ghost in my ma-chine dont know what evil sights its seen
Follows me down endless black dead days
Know it's here to stay just can't re-sist the need to slay
A Homi-cidal crazy gruesome teen

From the dark it comes to stalk it's prey A hungry thirsty gothic grey
Reeks of death and stark decay

"From the dark it comes to stalk it's prey
A hungry thirsty gothic grey
Reeks of death and stark decay"

That's especially good.
Cool song. Nice treatment.
You're so punk!

Cool song Richmac!! You really span quite a wide variety of styles. There are some wonderfully dark and vivid images in this. Very well done and very interesting as usual!! Take care. Greg

I like this !

Great job with the lyrics, paints a great picture.

Biab is amazing. Combining different genre's into one and making it work is kinda cool.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Greg.
I don't like rushing songs but need a new one every two days to keep up.
Doing demos is fun it's the tweaking and polishing that i find hard. Cheers.

Hi Trax.
Had fun thinking up gruesome images for a heavy metal song but it turned into surf thanks to Brent's lead.
I love mixing up Real Tracks ,never know what's going to happen, and Realband makes it sooo easy to experiment. Cheers.

+1

I hear you about mixing. Getting ideas down is easy and fun but polishing them is a lot more time consuming! But the end result is worth it, otherwise we wouldn't do it!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hello Rich,

you never stop to amaze us! we'd never heard of the trash style before but it sounds cool. So does the soloist you used here (Brent is always the right choice!).
Very nice work.

Richard,

I really enjoyed this one.

The rhyme-structure of the lyrics is incredibly creative. It seems to me that you've put a decent amount of thought into massaging these lyrics into shape.

I'll explain what I mean. Here are your lyrics. I've realigned them so show how I heard them...

These lyrics are a variation on the AABA format. The rhyme scheme immediately caught my ear and then my eye. With one exception (namely, "days"), these are all perfect rhymes. Moreover, you've chosen to use only two sounds to complete the rhymes; these are the '-ay' and the '-een' sounds. I find that very impressive.

In addition, the rhyme scheme of A A B B B A for each (A)-section and then A A A in each (B)-section works for me!

When I saw that this was AABA format, you got me wondering if you'd ever thought about repeating (A3) again after the second time through the (B)-section. Have you? There's no reason you have to. I mention it simply because a large number of AABA format songs travel along in a sequence as...

A1, A2, B, A3, Instrumental, Repeat_B, Repeat_A3

Kudos to you! I found this a very engaging composition. One of your best!

Regards,
Noel

Thank you Noel for the amazing comments and insights you provide!
The way you have the lyrics is also the way i wrote them.
i have a thing about fitting a song on one A4 page so combine lines so they fit.
The only reason I didn't repeat A3 was because I wanted to hear more of Brent's guitar instead and the song was long enough.
I think the outro wants a bit more work later. Cheers.

Me too. What I do is to set the sheet in landscape mode and use two columns.

Plus 2 here on what floyd said about the
above. Great lines indeed.

I used to think we were all over the map
with genres and styles but you are the
boss. Your mashups of RT styles
is always different and invariably effective.
This is no exception.

Very cool!!

Richard, What a great idea to use that lead. It fits perfectly. I knew I was in for a treat when I read the instrument choices. What I didn't know was how much I was going to like it. Very experimental and you pulled it off superbly. Great listen, Tom

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
