A build 104 update patch is available for Band-in-a-Box 2015. (July 29, 2015)

Download the Band-in-a-Box 2015 Build 104 update (40MB)

Summary of fixes in build 104 (since build 103)

  • Improved With bigger screen resolutions, Section Letters & bar numbers will display on the Chord Sheet (not just Section Letters).
  • Improved Band-in-a-Box can now record audio in any sample rate, instead of having to change the settings of the device before opening the program (the audio data will be resampled to 44.1kHz after recording).
  • Improved Audio Settings dialog added, which can be accessed from the general Preferences dialog. This allows you to choose your default audio track type (mono/stereo), or current track type, and which channels to record from (left/right/both). There is also a new option for getting a warning message when you open a song and the audio track is missing. The Audio Devices dialog can also be launched from the Audio Settings dialog.
  • Improved There is a new item added in the Audio > Edit Audio menu: "Convert Channels (mono/stereo)...". This allows you to convert your audio track from mono to stereo, or stereo to mono. You can choose the % of each channel to include in the conversion.
  • Improved The Audio Devices dialog now shows the streaming format specifications of each output and input device listed. This shows the number of channels, bit depth, and sampling rate.
  • Fixed Audio Devices dialog did not have hints.
  • Fixed Old Mixer window was not getting updated when changing values on the main screen Mixer.
  • Fixed File > Open Special > Open Audio was not changing the song form to match the duration of the imported audio file.
  • Fixed When opening the VU meters window, it was taking focus away from the Pre-Record dialog.
  • Fixed If Audio Edit window was open during playback, some of the controls on the Mixer would not redraw properly when being moved by the mouse.
  • Fixed External resizes did not trigger the entire application window to redraw properly (eg an app like Spectacle can make a window fill the screen, half-screen, etc.).
  • Fixed Big Piano was showing a 'CC' label until the user moves their mouse over the keys.
  • Fixed Video Window button had wrong hint.
  • Fixed Simple button had wrong hint.
  • Fixed Email dialog did not provide option to attach AIFF or M4A Artist Performance Tracks.
  • Fixed Adding a section letter from Notation window would not update the Chord Sheet.
  • Fixed Section letters would not show on the Chord Sheet if past bar 64 (beyond the first page), and any such section letter would end up drawing on the first page (eg 'H' on bar 65 would display on bar 1).
  • Fixed Volume changes (using Bar Settings) were not working properly for RealTracks or RealDrums.
  • Updated PDF Manuals.

One thing I did notice is that the new "Audio Options" dialog comes up behind the "Record" dialog window.
It is not initially visible unless you move the other window out of the way, nit picking I know. blush

Otherwise, it's great to see all the little things getting ironed out, and new features added !

Thanks !

- Jay

  • Still Needs Fixing: Clicking Rebuild in Drums Picker Window will now show User/Third Party Drums without the user having to manually add to Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Data/PGALLDrumFolderNames.txt

Just now ( Mon, Aug 3, 2015 16:38 ) ran an update test and apparently Band-in-a-Box 2015 Build 103 update is the latest update with no new updates available.

Are you sure Andrew PG Music staff that the Download Band-in-a-Box 2015 Build 104 update (40MB) is the most current update ?

Build 104 is the latest build. We typically have a new patch update available on our site for a few days before allowing it to be auto-updated in the program, just in case there are any issues with the new build.

I only have BB 2014. If I upgrade to BB 2015, do I still get to keep all of the stuff I have from BB 2014?

Islansoul,

When you purchase an upgrade to the 2015 Version it won't take anything away from your existing 2014 version.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
