I have been reading the other Windows 10 threads with interest but then I read this in the Daily Mail, if it is true

Why MS continues to deliver products with such intrusive defaults is beyond me. Yes, they are easily changed, but the average user cannot be expected to be aware of these things.

I think this is just a joke. I've upgraded 3 computers to Windows 10 in the last week and not one of the three defaulted to a slide show from My Pictures.

I once went to a computer repair call. The complaint was that the computer had a virus. I sat in the room working and as processes were running my eyes moved around the room, where I saw a crucifix hanging, a few religious pictures, rosary beads carefully arranged on a table around a candle... very religious woman.

The scan for some files on a folder down 5 steps into a directory tree. Of course, the clean them up, I had to go see the filenames. They were named things like hsh36ega7w.mov and such. To check it, I opened one and was some of the NASTIEST stuff I have ever seen. This was all with the woman sitting right there with a bible in her hand and a rosary laced into her fingers. There was over a gig of this stuff, and 2-3 dozen of them popped up in the scan.

I told her the best thing for me to do was completely erase that directory and then scan again, and asked if that was okay. She said "Excuse me for a moment" and picked up the phone and called her husband. Hearing just that side of the conversation allowed me to get the gist of the conversation. She said "Hey the computer guy is here. Is it okay with you if we erase all this [*****] because that's where the viruses are..... Oh yes, we WILL talk about this later. Goodbye."

I felt SO BAD for her.

Moral of the story, if you are hiding [*****] from your wife, keep it on a thumb drive on your key ring or somewhere else like that.

I smashed the hell out of my car today. When the cops came I told him "Officer, that guy was BOTH texting and drinking a beer." The cop said "Sir, he has every right to do that. I mean, it's HIS living room..."

He better have GREAT eyes because young Eddie is WAY in the rear view. Old Eddie is here now.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
