BOUNCIN'! - Yet another original from my archive gets the "treatment". Originally written sometime in the late 80's (or early 90's, honestly don't remember). Instrumental, as is my usual forte (with the potentials for lyrics, if any wordsmith here fancies a shot), has a pretty simple melody & structure so I tried to 'decorate' it with various instruments throughout. See if you can spot them all grin
Enjoy! cool

EDIT: In case SC starts acting up, I've added it to Youtube HERE!

Hi Eddy,

Long time no see....
Simple but definitely effective!
No we cannot spot them all, what's the BiaB part here?
Nice and catchy.

I'm going to give more people a chance before I go ahead with the 'fundamentals', the tune hasn't even been up for an hour yet! :p
As for long time - it's quite a short summer we got here so I try to make the most of it outdoors while it lasts.

p.s. I don't know who this "Eddy" guy is, certainly not with a "y" at least wink

Interesting how a little guitar will suddenly turn a bouncy tune into blues.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

My sentiment just! smile
Short of the melody (more or less a blues scale throughout), the initial version from years back didn't even have an inkling of blues at all eek The arrangement there was mostly a steady 12-8 piano chords á la Blueberry Hill etc., from which concept wise only the saxes survived in the current version. So yes, the choice of instruments make all the difference cool

Speaking of: The fundamental style is _TBLZSEV (centers around a 12-8 vintage el. keys, RT set #211). But I toyed with it quite a bit (used 3 of the drum's substyles, for instance), plus added 'decorative' bits of instruments via synth here & there. All in all I ended up with more tracks/instruments than BBox could fit, which this far is a first for me since I bought it.

The "Song list" page says last updated aug. 18th, but for some reason this entry hasn't made the cut...? smirk

+1

This is a very nice tune!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

It stays interesting throughout and that blues solo guitar around the 1:30 mark is spectacular!

Eddie,

Very nice. Kept to the theme but made it interesting. The tamborine works as it adds to the drum track. The guitar in the middle was a surprise. The first keyboard tone and fill keyboard sound compliment each other well.

It's fun to have an interesting melody and try to keep it interesting for multiple verses. You kept it interesting throughout.

That's a good listen. Stays with you after it is over.

Would make a good background for one of those old-time non-talking cartoons...

Good mix.

Yep it would...until the blues man comes in and the cartoon animals scurry...but then when he's finished they re-appear from the sidelines. This is way cool. Held me all the way through and then I had to call Janice to come listen. A really creative engaging little ditty.

There's now a slightly 'tweaked mix' version up HERE! (I was too late to edit the new link into my first post, sorry).
It should make the various decors more balanced, primarily now the rest of the perc is more audible (first one made it sound like only a tambourine). cool
Oh, and because I forgot to freeze the guitar for this mix, I accidentally ended up with a lot better solo this time around, how lucky is that! grin

Full list of instruments:

RealTracks in Song: 1925 Guitar, Electric, Soloist TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Brent Sw 060
RealDrums: RealDrums in Song: BluesRock128^ (three substyles)

Midi melody: Square Wave (modified)
Midi 'decors': Saxes, Pizzicato&Flutes, Sweep pad (modified), congas&tamb.

Anyway, thanks to all of you who chimed in with a comment on this silly little piece. Much obliged smile

p.s. The YT version is still the first one if you fancy a comparison. I am too new at YT uploading to know how (or if) I can just swap out the audio in some easy way.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
