Hi Josie.
Many thanks for listening and all the kind words. Billie is great to work with - she's just a natural.

You obviously know about "keying", so you'll know how much work went into this and it's good to get positive feedback. I'm sure there'll be more of Billie in the near future.

Take care, ROG.

That's a big background vocal sound you've got there!

Thanks, David.

The BVs are down to me, even though at that pitch I sound more like one of the girls!

There's two parts to the sung harmony and each is tracked-up four times, so eight tracks. Then the oohs are the same, so another eight tracks there. Could never do it on tape!

Cheers, ROG.

Nice chord progression on the song.

Charlie

Hi Charlie.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Glad you liked the chord progression. I thought I might be pushing things a bit with five major chords, but it seems to have worked out!

A BIG +1

She is one very talented young lady. Be sure to tell her that she has some fans over here on this side of the big pond! I am one of them!

Mario - Many thanks for the good review.

Billie's away on vacation, but she'll be thrilled with the comments when she's back.

Did you use green screen for this? And with what video editor?

Rob & Anne-Marie

Hi Rob & Anne-Marie.

Thanks for the listen and kind words.

Yes, we used green screen to place Billie against the studio backdrop. The effects in the middle section involved chroma-keying through four layers, plus under-sampling and cross fading. We used the following software in this production-

Serif Draw Plus - animations
Microsoft paint - animation backgrounds
Debut Professional - video capture
Lightworks - video effects
Serif Movie Plus X6 - video effects and editing.

Send me a PM if you want any more details on the technical side of the production.

Cheers, ROG.

I was around for the very early female British invasion (65-68) Petula Clark and all that and this song had that same wonderfull flair, to me at least. Very easy to listen to, great production and very enjoyable. Thanks for a great listen,
Rick

ROG,

Nice production. As many others mentioned, Billie has a nice voice and stage presence. I definitely sensed the Amy Winehouse vibe right away as you mentioned later in the thread. well done.

Hi Patrick.

Thanks for the listen and review - I thought this one had just about run it's course by now.

Thanks for the kind words. When you consider that this is the first singing which Billie had done, it bodes well for the future. The next Amy Winehouse? Well maybe.

Wow is this good, ROG! Great song, well produced. Video really fits the song as well. I raised two girls and have 2 granddaughters. Very well acquainted with eye-rolls! Good job bringing out some obvious natural talent here!

Hi ROG. I watched this a while back but am only now catching up on commenting. Phew there have been some excellent contributions to the forum while I have been otherwise involved and this is no exception. Please pass my compliments onto to Billie. She is very talented.

ROG,
I just wanted to add a +1 to the positive comments.
The song is cool, and the video is a lot of fun to watch. I watched it several times.
I think Billie has a bright musical future, and she has a super talented teacher to help her along the way.

Rog,

I enjoy all your music productions but this one is near the top. Billy is off to a great start. Must be fun for your children to be actively involved.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
