My favorite of a lot of clever lyrics!! Really creative, as usual where you are concerned Alyn. This was well done in all respects. I particularly liked the unusual key changes in the chorus/B-sections. A real treat!! Take care. Greg

As I said to David, dcuny, I adjusted the 1st line from Tennyson and remembered the 2nd line from my school days, at that time only a few years previously. just googled it and it was Samuel Johnson

the key change lifted the song to new depths grin

glad you enjoyed

Alyn - your songs are like a box of Cracker Jacks. Dig into them anxiously because you always know there will be a surprise! A good one!

A delight, as always...

I like your turn of phrase, thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it when our songs are so different.

The mythology of Gibsonology continues to swell from within the ceaseless mind of a genius. Excellent write and production.

The 961:Guitar Acoustic is very cool, don't think I heard it before.

Rob

Thanks Rob,
I like dynamics in a song, maybe a bit too much
Yes that RT is good and I have found some real gems hidden away in different genres.

So glad you enjoyed the song

Thank you. I have tried to work out the chronology showing the rise of the mythology of Gibsonology, this may take some time for which I offer my apology (thanks Sonny smile )

No apology necessary. Making a discology (aka discography )of the mythology of Gibsonology is a tremendous endeavor.

Thank you, making a discology highlighting the chronology showing the rise of the mythology of Gibsonology would not have been possible without the wonderful Canadian programme BIAB and the current advances in technology.

that's what made it so amusing and clever... it was the perfect misquote to match the mood of the song!

I liked that line, but this one was my favourite:
Quote:
time alone can heal a scar if I had time which I don't

I've reached the age where I find myself pursuing plan B because plan A takes too long, and I'm not sure how much time I have left on the planet! So that line resonated with me!

Alyn... I can't tell you how much I enjoy your songs, but mostly how much I enjoy the sense of humour that drives them! You are smart enough to see life in minute detail, clever enough to give it a sharp twist, and irreverent enough not to care! And the resulting songs are priceless!

And it is quite evident that you grew up under the influence of the Beatles... even your voice is a good match.. but you have the style and technique down too!

Alyn,

Superb!!!!

Love the line "its better to have loved and lost than never to have lost at all"... LOL!!!

There's no-one around here who has your imagination and creativity with words. I've totally given up on trying to anticipate what sort of journey I might be in for when I read the title. It's always unpredictable, always entertaining and always a pleasure to listen to.

All the best,
Noel

Great song, very enjoyable, love all the different vocal effects, clever lyrics as usual, and the bass lines are very cool.

Rob,
you gotta a good sense of humour also, as shown by your latest masterpiece.
I loved Bungalow Bill

I shall keep 'em coming, as I hope you do too

Me too but I'm on plan C crazy My mortality is questioned almost every day as the number of my friends reduces.

I have never really bothered what people think about my songs but I have to praise BIAB for turning them into listenable stuff. Laughter is always the best medicine and I luckily inherited the active sense of humour from Dad and the irreverence to life from Mum.

I studied the Beatles music thoroughly using this book I bought it in 1993 and used to read it as a novel. I sight read and used to remember the bits I liked and/or the arrangements in some songs. I read it many many times and I suppose it shows. Gotta mention BIAB again here tho' cool

Thanks for a wonderful post.
I am in a productive mode at the moment and was thinking which song to post next as I have quite a few vying for that position and I think I may now post the one with me as The Flab Four grin

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
