Did you know it's Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday, October 12th? We hope all our fellow Canadians enjoy the holiday!

Fortunately, we only close the entire office on Christmas. Our office has regular hours on Saturday & Sunday, but we won't all be here on Monday...

-Our Technical Support department will be closed, but will re-open Tuesday morning at 10am PST.
-Our Sales & Customer Service department will be open from 8am - 4pm PST.

The Marketing Department will not be available on Monday.
In fact, I'm off all week - but Catherine will be around Tues-Fri (our Marketing Manager).

Our hours list here.

Ever wondered why Canadian Thanksgiving isn't on the same day as American Thanksgiving? I found this article that does a decent job of answering that!

have a great week off Callie!

and thanks for the interesting article!

By the way.. the title "why do Canadians and AMERICANS..." suggests that Canadians aren't Americans!! But both countries are located in North America, so we're both Americans in the same sense that the people of many different countries on the same continent are Europeans or Asians or Africans

Have a very happy Thanksgiving to you all.

And yes, we do play "O Canada", as there are a lot of Canadians who spend the winter here in Florida. I really enjoy their visits and I try to make them feel as welcome as the Canadians always make me feel when I visit our good neighbors to the north.

I remember being on about week 3 of a 12 week Canadian trip and we had July 1st off for whatever it's called in Canada. I remember taking a nice train trip from The Soo to the Agawa Canyon where I took a bunch of really great pictures. (This was so long ago I used that stuff called "film".) However, since July 4th is not a holiday up north, we had to work on what would be our holiday. We didn't care about working, but it seemed to hit home that day when we were supposed to be at picnics and seeing fireworks that we really were away from home, and that kind of brought home a sense of awareness about what the July 4th holiday is all about for us.

In the middle of the second set, our singer, who liked to play it by ear, picked up his guitar and started strumming and told the Canadian crowd about our July 4th, and after that he broke into Springsteen's "Sandy", properly titled Asbury Park, 4th of July. We did not do that song, though we all knew it, and I started scrambling for an accordion sound for the chorus. When we got there I played that swelling accordion part as well as sang the harmony. And when we finished, I found myself in tears. I walked out from behind the keyboard rig and gave him a hug, and the crowd cheered. That day really brought home what our 4th of July is all about. All the "veteran" came out in me, etc....

So Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canuckian friends! And come July 1, we'll talk some more "aboot: the night Eddie cried on stage in Sault Ste Marie.

We LOVED those trips! Great audiences, some really nice, fun people.... Part of what music is all about. (Or aboot...)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
