Too KindThis song was inspired by a dream in which I was dating a famous man-eater and people were saying that it won't last. And it didn't because I woke up RealDrums NashvilleEven8 RealTracks:Electric Bass #700 Acoustic Guitar Strum #665 Acoustic Guitar 12-string #897 Electric Guitar Held #833 Electric Guitar Arp #834 Electric Guitar #680 Electric Piano #913 Synth ElectroFlutes #2364 Harmonica Background #626 MIDI:Pad-Warm from style -MELISA2.STY Solo #158 Acoustic Guitar (Plug-in SampleTank3 SteelString) Vocals by Supreme TracksMixed in Adobe Audition Lyrics:Am I too sound? am I just playing too small bets? Am I too safe? am I too scared of upsets? I don't risk to avoid regrets, I'm happy with a small delight but you could choose a stud who can excite. I have heard about all those guys you've left behind I'm next whispers say because you're fickle and I'm so kind. I don't dominate your world, I'm not the alpha male every night the same blue dream how you had set your sail on a sperm whale. Am I too tame? like a cat, domesticated, mild? Am I too soft? Am I your comfort-loving child? I don't prey hunt in the wild, if I'm not a lion every night does that make you look for lustier men in sight? [Chorus] [Solo] Am I too kind? am I too saintly behaving? Am I too nice? am I predictably boring? I'm thoughtful, polite I hate fighting I take out garbage and I mop hence you could walk away from this milksop. [Chorus] --- Janne

Very cool track!! Really interesting harmonically. Nice changes and some fun, humorous lyrics. For me, the harmonica was a bit of an odd choice in here. Really fun and interesting song! Take care. Greg

Great harmony and overall sound! A very different type of song for me (lyrics and chord progression). I guess nice guys just don't make the grade with some women! That would put me out in the cold for sure! I enjoyed listening. Sonny

Hi Janne. Now that's unusual. Great original idea and treatment. Cheers.

Thanks Greg for your kind comments. Maybe the harmonica is bit too loud in the mix, but anyway I feel that it is important part of my "wallpaper of sound".
Thanks Sonny for appreciating my little song!
Thanks RichMac for your nice comment. I'm not so sure that it is original melodically, at least the BIAB soloist generated solo part reminds me of some 70's song, just can't recall what. Baker Street came to my mind first, but that's not it, although the soundscape has similar elements.

Really cool stuff. I was very intrigued by the Supreme Tracks mentioned and I googled them. Seems like a cool resource to have in your contacts list. I like what you did with this!!!

Thanks David for commenting! I've been satisfied with their service, fast response and professional quality. BTW. Waiting For The Fall is a nice song, I like especially the lyrics. I have also a Waiting For... song, waiting to be released soon --- Janne

Hi,
Cool and different! Nice smooth vocals. I think the vocal harmony is fine as it is ... not at all too loud. The lyric is creative and caught my attention.
I mentioned the song was different. And that's a good thing. If no one ever did anything different, we'd all be writing, playing and listening to the same thing over and over.
Loved the creative ingenuity ... lyric and music. The song reminds me of a late 60's or early 70's Brit Rock piece. The 12-string guitar and smooth vocal harmony only reinforce that.
Thanks for a nice listen that took a different path and journey ... en joyed it!!!
Al

Al Thanks Al for your very positive comment You are perhaps too kind I'm really glad that there are people like you who appreciate bit different kind of songs. That's what I try to do, to walk on my own path, to please myself and not others. But of course I have unconsciously taken influences. I have grown listening to 80's brit pop artists so maybe their music have brought also earlier flavors into my songs. --- Janne

Hey,
I have a question. How much did Surpreme tracks charge for doing the vocal track and what was the process there? I can't seem to find much about that on their website.
Thanks!!

Another very cool one Janne! Very nice arrangement, and very good vocals by Supreme Tracks (these guys could have done the vocals on albums like I Robot and The Turn of a Friendly Card by Alan Parsons, and no one would've noticed the difference :-))

Pleasant listen, nice harmonies... interesting lyrics, especially some of the word choices, like "milksop". I'll just leave it at that.
