Hi All. Kicking off my new year with a bit of Blues/Rock for a change. I intended it to be fairly minimal with just drums, bass and guitar, but then a Rhodes piano crept in, plus some brass, a Hammond and finally my old friend RT - Sax Tenor Hip Hop. I even threw in a Maj7 chord for John (Skyline). Drums are a rare mix of Realdrums and samples. It was all recorded in Realband and mixed and mastered in Powertracks. Basically it's just a bit of fun with an "In Yer Face" mix which is intended to be played LOUD. BREATHING SPACEI got a mojo, but my mojo's no good I got a woman, who never does what she should I got a job, it's a job that I hate I got paid, but too little too late Maybe there's someone could take my place Give me some breathing space Out of this race. I got a house, I'm behind with the rent I got a bank, that charges thirty percent I got air conditioning, from the holes in my shoes I got a scratchcard, instant win, instant lose Maybe there's someone could take my place Give me some breathing space Out of this race. All I want is some breathing space Won't you give me some breathing space I can't get no breathing space. I'm always grateful to anyone who has the time to listen. Many thanks. ROG.

Awesome tune. Hear a little Dire Straits in there. Excellent vocals and harmonies. Loved the sax solo.

I cranked it to LOUD+. Great mix - it held together there...
Drums! YES!
Guitars are nice. I always like your vocals - this might be your best ever. (wait... no "might" about it...)
The horns are Super (with a capital "S")!!
The sax is perfect.
A little Dire, a little Bowie, a little Robert Palmer... all ROG...
EXCELLENT write. This is top-notch Pop/Rock writing. Radio worthy.
Can you tell this is my favorite ROG song ever???!!!!
a big WOW for that one, Prof.
floyd
(oooh.... by the 2nd listen, I was screaming harmonies through the whole thing - it takes a ""real strong song" for that to happen. Killer.)

Awesome tune. Hear a little Dire Straits in there. Excellent vocals and harmonies. Loved the sax solo. Hi Scott. Many thanks for the listen. I'm always happy to be mentioned in the same sentence as Dire Straits and I'm always riddled with self doubt about my vocals, so that was a confidence booster too. The RT sax is just SO nice to be able to call on. It's like having a top session guy in the studio. This program really has to be the best. Thanks again, ROG.

Definitely your finest tune since I have been on the forum. Very cool beat and your mix is right where you need to be. Your vocals are haunting and the instruments really come together for an enjoyable listen. Great job! Sonny

Hi Floyd - now you're making me blush! All those influences which you mentioned are all my heroes, so I'm really flattered. Hey any time you want to do some harmonies, I'd by more than happy. Glad the mix held together loud. I laid off the reverb to try to keep some punch in it. So, many thanks for the listen and everything. ROG.

Hey Professor,
I don't comment on a lot of songs (mea culpa), because my online computer is hooked up to a surround system, and everything sounds strange on it. I Audacitied(?) this one to listen in the studio, and I'm glad I did! Loved the scatting in there, vocals, mix, arrangement - everything about this I dig. This is some fat blues, brother. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Regards,
Bob

We are listening over coffee and Janice's first remark was "sounds like George Harrison meets Dire Straits!" (and this was before we read the comments and saw that others had mentioned the Straits). And when she heard the harmony she said "sounds like the Traveling Wilburys." And all that is a very cool combo...assuming you don't dislike comparisons The RD and samples worked together most excellently. Yep, the sax sounded like a member of your long time band. And Janice said, "why does he worry about his vocals. They sound fine." And Bud said, "killer BIG sound with the production." And you may correctly conclude that we both love it! J&B

Oh yes, another great one! The vocal almost sounds like Tom Petty here, of which I'm a big fan. A very, very cool blend of instruments. Top-notch!

KILLER KILLER SONG!!! Just a great listen in every sense. Definitely felt the Money for Nothin vibe, and I really like the unlikely musical change with the smooth, richly harmonic part. Caught me by surprise but was a very pleasant one. EVERYTHING sounds great! My favorite of yours so far (among a lot of great ones)!! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
