Rhythm & Brews is a night spot in downtown Chattanooga
and is the host of a lot of good bands. Gary Bartley and
Ranse Whitworth are friends of mine who both play the
keyboards for their bands. Gary for The Blues Hammer band
and Ranse for The Beaters. Both of these bands have
played at Rhythm & Brews and I thought it would be fun
to write a song about all three as if Daniel & his All-Star Rhythm Band
were playing live at Rhythm & Brews as a tribute to my friends.

Rhythm & Brews

Well I gotta get down
To the Rhythm & Brews
Downtown Chattanooga
And I wanna hear the music
That lifts me up
From two great bands
That can really bring it to ya

And the Blues Hammer Band
Has a real smooth sound
And when the B3 cranks
You can see Gary smile
And my heart starts pounding
As my feet hit the ground

Oh the Beaters
They can sure play that
Ole rock n roll
And Ranse knows his ivory yeah
Cause it’s better than pure solid gold

Yeah all right
It’s my favorite sound
Oh yes it is
Can’t you feel it
All that rhythm & blues
The boys are jumping
As they bring it on down

So come on join the fun
Get to Rhythm & Brews
Have a party
Make some memories
With your friends
All right now let’s
Bring it to an end

All RealTracks with Daniel Hensley on all vocals

You really captured the live feel here! I felt like I was in a bar, having a beer and listening to some great blues! It can be hard to capture that feel but you nailed it.

This is so good that I had to crack open a Budweiser and listen again.

You nailed this one!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Cool work Sonny and Daniel!
This definitely sounds like a live ambience.
We take it you added some 'live' samples?

Sonny and Daniel. Knockout for sure. This is really well put together, and some of the playing is just sensational.

Daniel's vocals are absolutely fantastic.

What a great delivery, all 'round.

Already been back for another listen.

Very interesting concept piece here man. Kind of like the Southern Rock version of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Rhythm & Blues Heart Band, Featuring Daniel Hensley and his All Star Band.
smile

Were you doing it for the benefit of Mr. Kite????

Great job man, very creative and a rockin' good sound.

Mario you can have the Bud, I'll take an IPA! Make that two! This makes me thirsty. Nice crowd noise and the reverb on the bass and drums really adds to the live feel. Once again great vocal and arrangement. Outstanding job! Tom

Rob and Anne-Marie

Thanks Rob and Anne-Marie, you would be correct. I took a live audience download along with a few other sound effects to try and create a live feel. I listened to one of the live recordings of the Blues Hammer Band (mentioned in the song) and got a few ideas from there recording.

Sonny,

Incredible! The style of the song is different from mine, but I think there are a lot to learn how to make songs and use BIAB.

And R&B! Great sense of humor.

Hi Sonny.

An impressive piece of work you've put together, here. It's not easy to get a live sound, but you've captured it perfectly.

Loved everything about this track. If I close my eyes I'm right there in the club.

Terrific.

I actually have that album on reel to reel that I bought back in 67' but no, Mr. Kite was never a thought in the process of this song (lol). Thanks David for sharing your thoughts, I do appreciate them.

I am always game for something different (kinda like you and your punk rock song) to stir up the pot. There is so much that can be done with BIAB and basically we are only limited by our imagination. Thanks Floyd for the kind words of encouragement.

Thanks Greg for stopping in at Rhythm & Brews and grabbing a beer as you listened to Daniel and His All-Star Band. Seriously, if you are ever in this part of the country you should check it out.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
