David,

Another spirited write. You are on a real roll.

Your vocal has a great energy to it - perfect for the lyric. The reverb seems out-of-place on this one (just an opinion, of course) - I thought this vocal should have been almost dry - to make it more personal, intimate..(even though it's a big song).

A good group of instruments for the style. The sax is too far in the distance (like the vocal).

When I saw your picture, I thought all those people would be singing along... that would be awesome on this...

Very creative juices flowing on your station!...

Thanks Floyd, I have plans to reunite with Family of Soul this year and get them to sing on this, or at least part of the choir. We have become a bit scattered. But again, I do want to get them back together in some form this year. And you are right--they can truly curl your hair. Like nothing you have ever heard.

Hi David,

Good job on Let The Spirit Drive. The heavy reverb on the drums is a real attention getter to start things off.

Very cool. Would fit nicely on some of the Americana channels
we stream regularly. Nice lyric and hook. The vocal delivery
nails the whole vibe.

Enjoyed the spin!

Back for another listen...Janice commented that
the vocal reminds her of a Randy Newman Elvis Costello
mashup!

Good job David.
I note that you have chosen again to put your vocal in the back a little, a respectable choice for this style. I am no more connoisseur of anglosaxon singers, but your voice recall me Mick Jagger sometimes.

Ok, now I got Robert Plant, MICK JAGGER, Randy Newman and Elvis Costello. Thanks Caloo!!

I see a very white bright light and a tunnel and a very pleasant looking fellow in a long beard beckoning me to follow him into the shaft of light, that leads towards, something that looks like a...wait...a stairway...yes, and there is a lady there..

Ok, guys, it's been real. Thanks for the props! Catch you on the other side!!! Thank you BIAB. You are heaven after all!!!!!!

Nice energetic song - good lyrics. Agree with Floyd vocals could be more up front with less reverb.
Really well written.

+1, I agree with this. Nice write . I would have used less vocal effects and brought it up a bit. Nice job, you're on a streak. tom

Great sound and power on this.
The best song by you.

Perhaps a nice guitar solo is missing but is only my thought.

David, great energy, great enthusiasm, great spirit!! This one grabs you from the first beat. Wonderful use of all those exclamatory phrases (whatever you would call them). Personally, I'd like to hear the vocal a little dryer, more up front. Really love this tune!! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
