Maybe I should wait until this becomes a reality but I've been sitting on my hands in anxious anticipation:

I think you'll be proud - Illinois State University is starting a "Don Gaynor Department Of Special Needs Music"! Special Needs students are those with physical or emotional deficits. I'm very proud to have my name associated with such a wonderful music program - top-rated in the US.

Dr. Gannon has been very generous in supplying software to ISU and it is starting to blossom into an untapped customer base.

Thank you sincerely, Peter. You can rest assured that EVERY STUDENT will be taught to use BAIB as an integral part of the program.

Don

Fantastic Don, this is great news. The icing on the cake is the credit owed to you for your efforts.

Dan,

It's not written in stone yet but Professor Kim McCord has started the tedious grant request process. Many alumni are supporting the program and Kim is confident that she/we will get the grant. Such things take time.

Peter and crew have done so much already and BIAB will definitely be a huge part of ISUs curriculum. It is already being taught in their Music Composition Courses.

There is a lot of volunteer work needed to make my dream a reality. Anyone wanting to help should PM me for contact information. It would be unfair to post Professor McCord's information here without her knowledge and consent.

For your information, Kim has built her Special Needs Music Program into the best in the U.S. I'm extremely proud of her. She mentions my triumphs over physical deficits in each of her lectures and seminars.

Don,

congratulations to you for your relentless work advocating for people with disabilities of all kinds! I hope this comes to fruition, and it sounds as if it will! Your influence will help to keep music in the schools at a time when many schools don't seem to think it's important

And congratulations to Peter Gannon for recognizing and responding to the same need in his own generous way! Everybody benefits from having music in the school, and the people on this forum know better than anybody that there's no better way to get acquainted with music that by using BIAB!

Pat,

Thanks for your encouragement and continued support.

I've merely taken my performance back stage. Lots of irons still in the fire. I owe Peter for keeping my mind and heart involved in music, albeit obliquely.

That is great news. Being recognized in such a way is a rubbing with ointment for body, mind and soul at the same time or as we in German say: That is like Easter and Christmas at the same time.

Congratulations.

I couldn't say it any better.
Congrats to you Don and to Peter Gannon and the super PGMusic company.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Wonderful news Don!

I think it's just great that here you are sitting in a care facility and I'm using that term very loosely, completely disabled with I'm sure lots of issues yet you're still sharp enough and have enough drive to keep up with something like this.

Very inspiring.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
