Yes, a very tough year.

RIP Guy.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

RIP

Janice and I used to watch him regularly on one of the old Nashville networks singer/songwriter shows. Sitting in a circle and taking turns. We always looked forward to his.

I remember about 30 or more years ago when a friend of mine hopped into my truck and pulled out a cassette tape and said "you've got to check this guy out!"

I've been a Guy Clark fan ever since.

Sarah Jaroz posted a nice tribute to him on Facebook;

Quote:
I heard the news that Guy Clark passed away early this morning and immediately put on Boats To Build. I shed some tears, as I'm sure many people have, thinking about Guy and his timeless songs and the memories that came flooding back of different times in my life when his songs have meant so much. His music was so integral in the Texas Hill Country landscape in which I grew up - sitting on the back porch listening to Homegrown Tomatoes or Baton Rouge or Dublin Blues. It's almost like his music was embedded in the land. The songs, with their depth, soul, and simplicity were an important part of life for so many. As a young songwriter, I continue to find great inspiration from his music - a never ending journey and discovery of masterful songwriting. He touched countless lives with the gift of song, and the world is a much better place having had him in it.

I just came across this. I must admit that I don't know many of these musicians, but it makes for sad reading.

Jerry Douglas' post on Facebook about Guy Clark:

Quote:
Today we lost one of the greatest songwriters the world has ever seen. I lost a good friend too. All the times Guy would come by the bus and hang out for a while at Merlefest or Old Settlers or anywhere we have been together we talked about writing songs together. We never did and I will always regret that.
I went by a couple times to see Guy while he was sick this last time around. I wish I had gone more. Really gonna miss him. Here are a couple of times we had together with some other folks.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
