But wait!!! There's more....

I'm not really expecting my world to change.....

Am I too cynical? Jaded perhaps.....?

I hear a song in that somewhere.....

Cakewalk is making their public announcement June 1. They asked us not to share the news before then.

Since they're not announcing it before June 1.....How can you share news if you don't know what it is?

It's TOP SECRET. EYES ONLY.

I understand from my inside sources, that they are going to announce a new VST "Talent" plugin. Ought to be a big seller (or renter, that is). grin

A "talent" VST is long overdue.

I think a major part of the announcement will be a MAC version, so they can open up a whole new revenue stream.

I just got this announcement via email this morning.
The above is a very interesting guess.
This wish for Apple users has been a recurring subject on the CW forums for years.
I've read that it's a huge programming task for CW to deal with.
But...in this current DAW world it may be the prudent path for them.

I'm PC guy and have been with CW since 1994 with 3.0 for Windows after graduating from Voyetra. smile
Love the program and would never have a need to defect.

Regardless of what the "announcement" is (at 69) X3 Producer will probably work for me until I go below dirt.
Seems to me that the DAW software marketing trends are getting more complicated as the try to generate revenue for the long run.

Carry on....

Voyetra was also my first midi sequencer. The last version I had accepted imported wav clips. They included a few words like "wow", " right-on" and phrases like "now you're cookin'" to add realism to your midi sequences. A separate wave editor was provided so you could create your own wavefiles. I've always believed Voyetra was the easiest sequencer to use. Very easy to edit and never read the manual. Their way of doing things and the way I wanted to do things just perfectly aligned together.

Ha...
Figured I couldn't be the only one here that started with Voyetra.
Wow....didn't know that they'd implemented the .wav import ability but after going to CW 3.0 I never looked back.
Never knew that even had a manual!
I was trying to recall the interface...a black matrix with cute little magenta colored squares (bars)?

Anyway...I hope the CW 'announcement' does some good for CW in a very tough, competitive DAW software market.

Back to it....

Besides the "thing" mentioned in some of our emails

I truly hope the big news is NOT about a Mac version.

I realize CW would like to expand customer base - I just hope its not that way.

I got to thinking about it.
I have no knowledge of what's involved to port to Mac but would there be that many Mac users generating that much more new revenue to justify the expense to do it?
I thought most MAC users were in the Logic fold anyway.

I don't know....CW sure has us yakking about it. smile

Back to it....

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
