The Man I Love

Janice and Bud kindly agreed to collaborate on a blues track. I had a blues written by Leon called the Woman I Love which following a quick change of sex became The Man I Love.
The vocal is absolutely stunning and a superb example of blues singing. It was beautifully recorded by Bud and just dropped straight into the mix.
Once I received it I was in a bit of a panic not sure how I could do justice to the quality of Janice's performance. Anyway here it is and I hope I have appropriately showcased the vocal.

The Band

Vocal Janice Merritt

I played various guitars and the solos

Leon Sewell wrote the lyrics

Bass, Electric, TexasBluesRockSlow12-8 Sw 060

Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Brent Sw 060

Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Sol Sw 060

Organ, B3, Background Blues Monday Sw 065

RealDrums BluesRock128

The Man I love

Well, the man I love, he can make me feel so bad
Yes, the man I love, he can make me feel so bad
Sometimes I feel like that man gonna drive me mad

He got me thinking I can’t do nothin’ right
Baby’s got me thinking I can’t do nothin’ right
He always blames me whenever we fuss and fight

You know, the man I love he can make me feel so small
The man I love he can make me feel so small
Sometimes I wonder if he cares for me at all

The man I love he can make me lose my mind
That man I love, he can make me lose my mind
Oh, but when he’s good, he’s the best you’ll ever find

Great performance!
This one is professional at every level.
Leon and Peter you've created a real authentic blues arrangement.
Janice: this suits you extremely well well!

Sweet! Through and through.

What an amazing thing that we (on this forum) get to hear one of the best living blues singers - on a regular basis.

A bunch of nice "singing guitar" happening in this, Peter...

Nice mix. The drums sound great! Nice job of bringing the organ out, too..

Blues. Oh, yeah. Sweet.

Hats off to you Peter, Janice and Bud. Some great singing on this, Janice. Great voice. Truly enjoyed the track as well. Ha! I think this must be the kind of blues that the blues plays when it wants to hear the blues. Good job!

Hi Peter,
I enjoyed this, besides Janice’s great singing, the blues package came together with that Organ,, now I was no longer just ‘listening to the song, I was ‘visualizing it, right there, at the club, smoky and whisky laden. Did it for me.

Tips in the jar....that reminds me of our bluegrass band days. We'd say any tip will get you a song -- except Rocky Top or Orange Blossom Special will cost you $5.

Thanks!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
